I asked Dan Hurley the same question I asked Tom Izzo: why does the media have a problem with coaches coaching players hard? Hurley: "Society has gotten soft in a lot of ways... The real world is tough and cruel... I'm preparing my players for life."

“I believe in you, but you gotta want this moment.” True coaching isn't always quiet. It’s about meeting an athlete’s intensity with your own, demanding excellence because you care about their growth more than their comfort in the moment. That’s the work.

A very blunt Pat Hallmark after the team's loss to Texas-Arlington: "It's embarrassing. I'm embarrassed to be the coach tonight. The pitchers should be embarrassed to put 16 people on base with a lot of people here, a lot of kids at the ballpark. I feel bad for [the kids], quite frankly. "I don't love losing, but I can lose if I feel like you just beat me up with the bat. I don't like losing with the walk, so I won't sleep very well tonight."

I have a real job. I'm a mom. It's the most important & rewarding job in the world. I think if you had a baby girl like I do, you'd understand my positions a little better.

@brandoogucciass I haven’t heard him say anything racist, and if he has said something that offends you then I’m sorry. I don’t agree with racist comments. I still stand on the side of killing anybody for having a different perspective than you, is wrong.

@suttonlong5 I don’t care anything about his political or religious views. We all know he’s a christian but you can be a christian without disrespecting other people’s religion. I’m referring to the racist remarks he makes that’s what I wanna hear your opinion on.

They just shot Charlie Kirk. A married young man and father, who stands on college campuses and encourages young people to get married, have children, stop abortion, and simply live a life for God. I’m praying that he survives. And I’m praying that this country rises up and ends this.

This feels like a nightmare. One of the most horrific things I’ve ever seen. I feel absolutely gutted and devastated. Pray for Charlie Kirk’s soul, his young family and for our country. The violence and hatred has to stop. Our country needs Christ now more than ever.
