1st April 2026 Daily crypto wrap: BTC is trading around US$68,000 / A$99,000, roughly 46% below its October 2025 ATH. @ethereum holds above US$2,100 / A$3,000. Macro pressure remains, rising real yields and geopolitical tension are weighing on risk assets broadly. Institutional ETH accumulation is accelerating. Bitmine added 71,179 ETH, worth US$147 million, in its largest weekly buy of 2026. Total holdings now sit at 4.73 million ETH, roughly 4% of total supply, with 66% staked generating US$177 million in annualised revenue. On the policy front, the US Department of Labor has proposed allowing crypto in 401(k) plans. If finalised, this could open access to US$10.1 trillion in retirement capital. Treasury Secretary Bessent and SEC Chair Atkins both expressed support. A 60-day comment period follows. Square has automatically enabled Bitcoin payments for millions of eligible US merchants, with zero transaction fees through 2026 and instant USD settlement. Merchants can also opt to retain a portion of BTC revenue. Adoption infrastructure keeps building. US$66,000 remains the key level to watch on BTC. A hold here supports the case for consolidation. A break lower opens the door to further downside. Sentiment sits at extreme fear, Fear and Greed Index at 11, which historically has marked capitulation zones. @btcmarkets

Dubai is not banning #crypto leverage. It is narrowing who gets access to it. VARA now requires 20% initial margin for retail derivatives, equal to a 5x cap, and firms must keep suitability records for 8 years. That pushes the market toward controlled participation, where stronger operators benefit and risk discipline matters more than raw volume. #Dubai

Dubai continues to beef up its crypto rules. The Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) has introduced new rules for margin trading and derivatives, requiring crypto exchanges to: ► Assess if certain products are suitable for users ► Monitor accounts and sell user assets to cover losses ► Provide risk disclosures There's nothing new, really, as most exchanges do these things already.
