When governments control healthcare, education, housing incentives, banking policy, energy policy, money creation, and large portions of industry through regulation and subsidy, you are no longer looking at laissez faire capitalism. You’re looking at a mixed economy drifting toward political allocation of resources while still relying on the productive capacity of markets to keep the system afloat.
