While the upcoming Artemis II mission will take astronauts 685,000 miles around the Moon—marking the farthest humans have traveled since 1972—it represents only a tiny fraction of the distance Voyager 1 has already conquered. Even after a million years of continuous travel, Voyager's total path will appear as nothing more than a short line on a map of the Milky Way.
