Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov stated that the pace of building anti-drone netting over roads has more than doubled compared with 2025 — from 4 to 8.5 kilometers per day. Over three months — from February to April — 430 kilometers of anti-drone tunnels were built, and 106 kilometers of roads were repaired during the same period. The scaling-up of anti-drone tunnel construction has been assigned to the State Special Transport Service. This shift in priorities is apparently also linked to the slowdown in the pace of the Russian advance. Previously, the State Special Transport Service was mainly engaged in building fortifications, but Ukraine now has powerful defensive belts, many of which the Russians have not yet reached. In this situation, shifting the priority to protecting logistics from Russian UAVs as the main threat appears fully justified.
