The Home Care Service in Sweden hired a Syrian gangster to take care of the elderly. It ended with him recording himself abusing and torturing them while shouting “Allahu Akbar” @samhallsnytt reports that 22-year-old Abdulrahman Al Khleef Almasalmeh from Syrianis being prosecuted for abusing, assaulting and mistreating 15 elderly people. The man, who arrived in Sweden as a refugee in 2015, was a member of a criminal gang and had previously been sentenced for robbing and tormenting several Swedish youths while armed with a gun. The investigation into the home care abuses has in total involved 15 complainants, with the oldest being a 99-year-old woman. In one video, his victim is a 92-year-old Swedish woman. “You look like a monkey!” he says to the woman while pointing at her. Abdulrahman Al Khleef Almasalmeh then swings his open hand toward the woman’s face without hitting her. Instead, he grabs her nose and yanks it while making a honking sound. He continues to insult the elderly woman in Arabic: “You whore! I swear I’m going to curse you! he says,” and adds: “Eat shit you whore!” In other video clips, an 81-year-old man is subjected to abuse and torture. First, the Syrian home care worker repeatedly calls his victim “son of a whore.” Then the 81-year-old is tormented in the shower as the 22-year-old Syrian pours ice-cold water on him. “I swear by Allah that I will make you freeze,” Al Khleef Almasalmeh is heard screaming in Arabic. The mobile phone videos were found on a mobile phone in connection with another criminal investigation. At the end of November last year, while the police investigation against Al Khleef Almasalmeh was ongoing, he was suspended from work with full pay. But the day after the New Year holiday, on January 2nd this year, he was allowed to return to his job in home care. “Since we don’t know more about the investigation, we cannot suspend him for more than one month, says the home care unit manager Maid Prnjavorac in a police interview. The 22-year-old Syrian therefore remained at his workplace until he was arrested by the police on the morning of January 19th. Abdulrahman Al Khleef Almasalmeh came to Sweden from Syria together with his parents and 5 siblings during the 2015 European Migration crisis 2015. He was made a Swedish citizen 3 years later and therefore can’t be deported for his crimes now. Despite Al Khleef Almasalmeh having been sentenced for 2 cases of assault and 5 cases of unlawful threats from his past as a gangster, he was hired in March last year by the home care service in Örebro. The person who hired Abdulrahman Al Khleef Almasalmeh was the home care unit manager Maid Prnjavorac. Prnjavorac does not want to answer @samhallsnytt’s questions when they call him. Instead, he refers to his boss Sahra Strandberg, who serves as the acting operations manager. In case anyone wonders how it is growing old in Sweden after paying 40% of your salary in tax for decades, this case explain a lot.

Ik ga binnenkort ook onbevangen beginnen met neurochirurgische ingrepen. Zo moeilijk kan dat niet zijn. Ik heb nota bene herhaaldelijk bij de neurochirurgen op de operatiekamer gestaan, ik heb gezien hoe ze de ingrepen doen en bovendien ben ik timmerman C, dus ik weet hoe ik met de hamer, beitel en zaag om moet gaan. Daarmee heb ik al meer ervaring dan deze twee. Ik ga gewoon onbevangen beginnen. Dat is helemaal niet erg. Verder weet ik wel waar het brein zich bevindt en ook weet ik waar het ruggenmerg zit. Ik ken de anatomie van beide delen van het centraal zenuwstelsel erg goed, dus ik weet ook wel heel goed waar ik moet zijn bij een operatie van een hernia of een hersentumor. En anders wijst de neuronavigatie mij wel de weg. Daarmee heb ik al meer kennis dan deze twee. Dus ik ga gewoon onbevangen beginnen. Dat is helemaal niet erg. Daarbij hak ik regelmatig een zenuwwortel door, veroorzaak met enige regelmaat een enorme hersenbloeding of ik haal per ongeluk wat teveel hersenweefsel weg. Maar dat is helemaal niet erg. Ik wil gewoon onbevangen beginnen. Of zal ik dat toch maar niet doen? Want dat betekent dat mensen ernstig beschadigd achterblijven en nooit meer zullen kunnen terugkeren naar het normale leven. En in een significant deel van de gevallen zullen patiënten gewoon doodgaan. Net zoals deze twee (opnieuw) onze maatschappij ernstige gaan beschadigen. De recente legalisering van 500.000 illegalen in Spanje wordt verkeerd voorgesteld. Ongeveer driekwart van deze groep komt uit Zuid-Amerika, spreekt Spaans en is al jaren actief in de informele economie. Dit zijn geen nieuwkomers, maar mensen die feitelijk al geïntegreerd zijn via arbeid en natuurlijk taal. Spanje (net als Italië) kampt met een ernstig demografisch probleem. De bevolking vergrijst snel en de actieve beroepsbevolking krimpt. Tegelijk kent het land al meer dan 30 jaar structureel hoge werkloosheid, terwijl sectoren als bouw, horeca, hotels en landbouw moeite hebben om personeel te vinden. Dat is geen paradox, maar het gevolg van een rigide arbeidsmarkt en zware regulering. In die sectoren werken al tienduizenden mensen zonder papieren. Legaliseren betekent hier niet “binnenlaten”, maar zichtbaar maken wat er al is. De staat erkent een bestaande economische realiteit. Illegaliteit is geen marktfout, maar een juridisch construct dat productieve arbeid naar de schaduwzijde duwt. Het is belangrijk onderscheid te maken. Deze legalisering gaat niet over grootschalige instroom van kansarme migranten uit (Noord-)Afrika, waar taal en arbeidsmarktintegratie veel problematischer zijn. Dat zijn verschillende migratiestromen met verschillende economische effecten. Ze op één hoop gooien vertekent het debat. Vergelijk dit met Italië. Ondanks strenge Meloni retoriek bleef de instroom via de Middellandse Zee hoog, vooral uit Bangladesh, Pakistan, Syrië en Sub-Saharaans Afrika (nul taal en cultuur integratie). Tegelijk verliest Italië zijn eigen jongeren. Tussen 2019 en 2023 verlieten bijna 190.000 Italianen tussen 25 en 34 jaar het land. Een groeiend deel daarvan verhuisde naar Spanje, aangetrokken door werk en perspectief. Economisch zie je het verschil terug. Spanje groeide de afgelopen jaren rond 2 tot 2,5 procent per jaar, ruim boven het EU-gemiddelde. Italië bleef steken rond 1 procent. Spanje trekt arbeid aan ondanks zware lasten en de logge bureaucratie. Met verdere liberalisering zou die groei nog veel sterker zijn. De kern is simpel. Mensen die al werken en bijdragen, moet je niet in illegaliteit houden. Vrije arbeid en een open arbeidsmarkt lossen meer op dan repressie en symbolisch beleid voor de bühne.
