Denominato NGC 3603, questo ammasso stellare si trova a circa 25.000 anni luce di distanza. La maggior parte delle stelle dell'ammasso è nata più o meno nello stesso periodo, ma la loro differenza di massa indica che si trovano in fasi di vita differenti. L'ammasso rappresenta una delle più alte concentrazioni di astri di grande massa conosciuti all'interno della nostra Via Lattea.
