The pace of progress of AI in healthcare is mind boggling. The health sector is going to see a massive disruption within the next few years. For starters, the EMR as we know it today will be history, replaced by an AI medical record.
Patients are going to be a lot more empowered than they are now. And a part of the decision making, especially in primary care, radiology, dermatology and some other specialties is going to be machine led.
In India, the Medical community will fight tooth and nail and resist any introduction of AI into decision making, but change is coming and it is coming fast. They can adapt or be left behind in 5 years. Mark this post. #Healthcare#AI#AIinHealthcare#MEDTwitter
@sanjeevsanyal Industrial R&D takes root in publicly funded academic science. Can Palo Alto happen without Stanford. Can Cambridge MA innovate without Harvard. The parlous state of Indian academic science must be fixed for private companies to access inventions - the lifeblood of innovation!
We are now a US$4 trillion economy - and soon to be third largest in the world. Our business sector needs to show the same level of ambition. I speak and write often about the inadequacies of the organs of the Indian State, but this one must be on the private sector. Some rules may need changing, but this is inexcusable.

On Ramanujan:
Left to fend for himself at 16 by Carr, Ramanujan turned his compulsion into a virtue, arriving at mathematical truths through heuristic reasoning all his own. Imagine what he could've done if Gauss, Euler and Jacobi had been his guides.
