Odysseus is one of more pious heroes in Greek Mythology. He constantly sacrifices to the Gods and is the favourite of a Goddess. To warp Odysseus' story into this is ridiculous considering Odysseus wouldn't even have made it home without all the Goddesses helping him
DiscussingFilm@DiscussingFilm

Matt Damon as Odysseus in Christopher Nolan's ‘THE ODYSSEY’. “No one can stand between me and home - not even the Gods.”

Feminist twt is so in the gutter, constantly giving terfs hit tweets & support for spreading reactionary & bigoted rhetoric & narratives, bcs everyone (not everyone) wants to mimick how men act, down to the degrading & despicable way they talk. I genuinely hate this place.

"we're not like UP or Bihar" yes you're infinitely worse actually. They were doing voter deletions in UP at booth level and still didn't get a clear majority. They physically stole EVMs in bihar and still had to form a coalition government. You people wish you were biharis.

#WATCH | Delhi | Prime Minister Narendra Modi says, "At a time when the entire country has turned away from communism, Congress is busy embracing the very ideology. The Maoism that is disappearing in the jungles has now strengthened its foothold within the Congress party. Congress is becoming a gang of urban naxals. Congress must not forget one thing, the public will reject anyone who adopts the same ideology that the people have rejected."

tamil nadu has its own version of the khaldunian civilisational cycle where an actor launches a party, becomes CM, passes it on to successors who are fulltime politicians. the decadent dynasty is then defeated by the next steppe army (kollywood fandom) w superior asabiyyah

More than the cultural losses and distortions posed by a saffronized West Bengal, I worry of what will happen to poor Bengali Muslims already prefigured as 'Bangladeshis'—and if this will have further impact on non-Muslim minorities in Bangladesh

It is in fact, turning to fascists who’ve promised mass statelessness and pogroms. If you do not care about what happens to minorities, that’s ‘fine’; but don’t kid yourself about what you’re actually fine with.
riona@rona_forlife

It's so annoying when people allude to poets and activists of the bygone era as WB's identity. Bengal hasn't had politicians to be proud of in the last 20 years. The state isn't turning to fascists, it's turning away from a party of rapists, goons and dacoits.

It’s the first of May. The bells in Minas Tirith all start tolling as the bright morning Sun rises into the clear skies that now stand above the mountains of Mordor on the eastern horizon. The argent standard of the Stewards of Gondor is raised over the Citadel for the last time.

Lúthien was the most beautiful of all the Children of Ilúvatar. Blue was her rainment as the unclouded heaven, but her eyes were grey as the starlit evening; her mantle was sewn with golden flowers, but her hair was dark as the shadows of twilight.
