All day I’ve been planning Belle’s graduation. It’s in two weeks. I ordered her diploma and cried like a baby. Belle’s graduating magna cum laude with a 3.8 GPA. She’ll walk the stage with three cords: one for academic honors, one for community service, and one for excellence in the arts. I couldn’t be prouder of her. But this isn’t just her achievement—it’s my entire family’s. I saw the public education system and knew it wasn’t good enough. So when Belle was in first grade, I pulled her out and set off on the adventure of homeschooling. Brandon and I worked opposite schedules in the beginning, sacrificing time together for what was best for our daughters. When we climbed out of debt, I stopped working to focus solely on our young’uns. We sacrificed extra income to invest time in our children. And the payoff? I never had to worry about their safety. I never had to worry that my girls would be brainwashed with political rhetoric or poisoned by social theories. My eldest, Bug, graduated with honors. She went straight into a trade, has zero debt, a perfect credit score, and enough money for a down payment on her first home. She’s 22 years old. Belle is following in those same footsteps. My daughters know NC history almost as well as I do. They’ve been reading the classics since elementary school. They understand personal finance better than I do. They’ve met politicians and helped lobby for common-sense laws. They’ve attended political conferences. They have a better understanding of civic duty and the Constitution than most elected officials, and they’ll never fall victim to a hive mind. Even better? My family is close. My girls tell me everything. They are my little buddies and best friends with each other. Both are daddy’s little girls. Nothing will ever crack what Brandon and I built by deciding to educate our girls ourselves. If you’ve ever needed a sign that right now is the time to homeschool your babies, here it is. ❤️

Are you fed up and tired of the way things have been? Me too. When Helene hit, I was furious with the inefficiency and lack of empathy for WNC. I may have moved past that, but then Charlie was assassinated and Iryna Zarutska was murdered. I couldn’t take it anymore. It’s why I got involved. It’s why I go to Raleigh to lobby for causes I believe in. It’s why I’ve made friends with elected officials. It’s why I use my platform to not only teach folks about NC culture but to give a voice to those who feel voiceless. I took one small step to change the future. And if I can do it, anyone can. 🇺🇸

@cstegmaier It’s ridiculous. My 87 year old father lives for the braves and almost every night tells me he can’t find them. I even bought the MLB Braves subscription for him.

We used to be a proper country. Braves on TBS. Every night in the summer. 7.05p. Don, Skip, Pete, and Joe. Now, watching the Braves is a combination of playing Where’s Waldo and an obtaining an Act of Congress.
