Punchy stuff from Farke today. Began to sound like a farewell, but he clarified it's a case of closing this first chapter with him and then establishing new goals over the next five years. He's turning the screw from a position of strength. #lufc

“When my fiancé heard that I was getting booed, she was lying to me, basically telling me they weren't. Like I appreciated that a lot because it would’ve hurt me.”
USMNT winger Brenden Aaronson admits he’s an emotional guy and opens up about the boos he received at Leeds United.
It happened when he returned from his Union Berlin loan spell, and he talks about how his fiancé tried to help him mentally.
“Coming to the Premier League was always my dream first of all, I want to touch on that,” Aaronson said in a Sky Sports interview.
“When I first came to the Premier League, I was so lucky. That’s why I loved it at first, you know?
“But then you get hit by that reality of how it’s such a massive club, you got to play well, you know? You want to keep the team up.
“I put a lot of that on my shoulders, because that's the kind of player I am. I want to help the team the best I can.
“When I decided to come back to Leeds, it was definitely a tough decision, because I knew that it was going to be, I mean, the fan base is so loyal, you know, the fan base is amazing, they care about the team so much, they love this club to death, and I can't speak enough about it.
“So I kind of knew what I was getting back into, but it was tough, even coming back and even knowing what was going to happen mentally, getting booed at first was tough.
“When my fiancé heard that I was getting booed, she was lying to me, basically telling me they weren't.
“I knew that they were, but she was like, ‘No, they're not.’ Like I appreciated that a lot. At that time it would have hurt me,
“But yeah, and then you get through that again, another up and down, and that's why I said you kind of go through all this and you learn, you know?
“I think that's the best thing. What I've always learned and what I've always been my whole life is relentless.
“I would say I don't give up, you know what I mean. I'll keep going, and you know, I'll keep fighting for what I want and what I want is to play at the highest level, and you know, I don't let the little negative things kind of get me down.
“That's what I've learned so much, and that's how my mental space is at this point.”
Aaronson has now established himself as a regular in Leeds, playing 35 out of 36 Premier League games this season.

@chris_sutton73 Yet again another pundit putting the boot into a manager, why don’t you try being one oh! that’s right you did how did that go, couldn’t coach kids….
English

@triffic_stuff_ Zahawi and RIGHTLY in the same sentence that’s a good one….😂
English

😡 Angry Sky News clash: Nadhim Zahawi rightly calls out Ed Miliband’s net zero obsession for hammering families with sky-high energy bills and cost of living pain. He also hits the nail on the head by pointing out that immigration is a massive issue for ordinary people.
Ayesha Hazarika, as usual, doesn’t want to hear it. She sarcastically talks over him: “Immigrants, immigrants, immigrants. Let’s blame immigrants for everything.”
What’s infuriating is she got to speak uninterrupted, but the second Zahawi gives his view she jumps in, mocks him, and won’t shut up. Then when he gets frustrated and says she’s haranguing him, she plays the victim: “You’re the one shouting over me!”
Unbearable, out-of-touch stuff.
(Not a defence of Zahawi btw, I don’t trust him, and his defection to Reform after everything is a disgrace that’s hurt Farage.)
English

@JamieBrysonLLB This will be Reforms worst nightmare as the UK will now see how they destroy councils and the working man.
English

The most reprehensible quisling Government in the history of the United Kingdom is being wiped out. Not even defeated, but routed. Reform is sweeping through every corner of the Kingdom.
If this is replicated at General election then the significance for unionism should not be underestimated. It is a once in a generational opportunity to really change things.
It is a chance to balance the Belfast Agreement, and most of all to completely eradicate the Union-subjugating Protocol Framework, restoring NI to the UK & putting the border where it belongs: between NI & ROI.
There is no time to waste; unionism must begin formulating those policy positions now & ensuring Reform understand them & are willing to implement such changes almost immediately upon sweeping to power.

Hi @LidlGB. My wife was in your store today and was accused of shoplifting a bottle of Fairy laundry detergent which she previously purchased elsewhere . The store ‘detective’ went into her bag without her permission, they scanned said item and ok. Rude and disrespectful

@rioferdy5 @RioMeets This result will go down as one of the best in Leeds united history not because of the 2-1 scoreline but for the complete meltdown by people like you ,Christ you’d think there’s never been a match before when decisions didn’t go the way fans wanted it too,DRY YOUR EYES

A council job with a four-day working week for five days’ pay.
Nice if you can get it. Not so nice when taxpayers are paying the bill.
We deserve full-time services for full-time pay.
The @Conservatives will ban this ridiculous policy and get Britain working again.

Leeds marching on together to Wembley. Struijk settles shootout. But what a scare. What a comeback by West Ham, who belatedly realised the FA Cup was worth fighting for - and we’ll be hearing more of young Fin Herrick. Great advertisement for the Cup. #WHULEE 🏆
