I’m delighted to share that our conceptual paper on AI has just been published in the Journal of Management Studies, wherein we shift the conversation from seeing AI as an entity to an organizing capability that arises from human–algorithm relations.

@Optus customer service via chat is the worst I've experienced so far. I asked to fix the issue of removing my credit card every time I try to recharge. Their human agent kept on marketing new plans to me even though I said I was not interested in them.

@SameerBorwankar While I had a few reviewers in my mind, I asked for some recommendations (with specific expertise) from one of the senior colleagues I am working with. Another source would be to locate participants who were part of PDWs or workshops.

So many helpful articles on post-PhD life as a junior faculty member. But is there anything on finding reviewers as a first time conference AE? #icis2024 #informationsystems

@mayur_p_joshi Thanks Mayur (@mayur_p_joshi) for the shoutout and the photo. It was lovely to have you at the PDW and catchup with you again. As always it's great to talk to you.

We have great organizational theories that explain how organizations function, but do the underlying assumptions hold in the digital age? In this JAIS paper Ioanna Constantiou, @martastrosa, and I advance a theory of organizations as digital enactment systems. A🧵 1/n

@johuellm @michalhron There are days I am not even motivated to do such... such days I do watch jayshetty's podcasts...also other podcasts on topics that are completely different from what I study...not sure this helps you @michalhron.

@michalhron Go to another project and pursue more worthless writing there. :-) Read old writing and think, "at least it is not as bad as that published 2017 paper".

how do you all navigate the confidence ups and downs of a writing process? I can't be the only one who regularly hits the "nothing I write has any worth" stage...

Very grateful to @AOM_CTO for the constructive reviews. I look forward to presenting and further developing my ideas. Equally excited for our PDW continuing the conversation from last year. #aom2023 @AOM_CTO do I get to see if my review comments have been useful to authors?

Why do associate editors send review invitations in-advance for ICIS2023? It seems like asking early to lock reviewers in for reviewing any paper in the track. Didn't have such an experience before. Is this a practice in the field?

Looking 4 some resources on b-splines (regression splines). Particularly, want to know how to interpret coefficients. ChatGPT but couldn't help me 😞 How do you interpret output (coefficients) when you have multiple knots & used cubic splines. Any statistician here?#Statistics🙏

I regularly review qualitative papers for @MISQuarterly and ISR and they almost invariably make the mistake of being sent to a top journal without first going through a few serious iterations in workshops etc. to hammer out obvious problems.

@michalhron @nberente @janrecker I haven't tried for collaborations but I continued my Scrum practices to manage my PhD project...though it was useful to a certain extent but found it hard cz I had no idea of project scope & what d ultimate outcome looks. Kanban would work for academia, I hope to try it out..

@sweetMals @nberente @janrecker I like how you bring in the comparison to industry. Wouldn't we be best served using some of the project management tools we teach for planning out collaborations after all? :)

@nberente @michalhron @janrecker I've seen people just team up for a project, just because they are the only available people without considering what skills and expertise they bring to the project. This is something I was surprised by which is the opposite of how I worked in the industry. 2/2

@nberente @michalhron @janrecker I think a lot of issues with co-authorship are related to lack of accountability for tasks/expertise within a project team. A part of the problem I observe is people teaming up for a project without a clear idea of which expertise each individual brings in. 1/2
