@sweetr @zollotech I just got a mini 7 and am liking it so far. Wish there was mini pro

M5 Apple Vision Pro has impressed me so far. It feels like going from the first Apple Watch to the second. Here is everything you need to know.

@VX___________ @zollotech I remember getting rid of both Gen 1 and 2 well before their time because they were both outdated by their slow processor. Gen 4 lasted 5+ years.

Real ones know the origin story.

Wow, $799 for Meta's new screen-equipped Ray Bans AND the neural wrist band. That's way less than I expected. Can't wait to test these.

You can order Starlink, get it delivered and be online in under an hour
Austen Allred@Austen
Our home internet got cancelled because the people renting this house after us set their move-in date for two weeks before they were moving in and AT&T only lets you have one line per household. After going back and forth endlessly I just Doordashed a Starlink.
English

@SnazzyLabs @ChristianSelig I gave up on using Siri on them long ago. Now that software updates are no longer available on Gen 1, my next worry is when they stop working altogether. Hopefully the obsolescence gods have a heart and let speakers be speakers :-)
English

@nerogej Agree, it’s not clear why Window Body Follow is Enterprise only. Hopefully they are just previewing the feature to Enterprise.
English

@captaink99 @jack A reality that seems much more likely these days :-)

my weekend project to learn about bluetooth mesh networks, relays and store and forward models, message encryption models, and a few other things.
bitchat: bluetooth mesh chat...IRC vibes.

Help me grow! 🌱 Pico AI Server is the #1 LLM & VLM server on the Mac App Store: MLX-powered, and compatible with Ollama & OpenAI API.
If you’ve tried it, a rating and/or review really helps boost search results. I’m at 26 ratings, aiming for 100, could you add yours?

@Scobleizer @justinryanio IMAX has lower brightness, no OLED, worse 3D and worse definition in many cases. The only area where cinema still surpasses Vision Pro is sound.
I’ve only been to one cinema that’s truly better: The Sphere in Las Vegas.
English

@Scobleizer @justinryanio F1 in IMAX at the theater was incredible but I went back and watched the IMAX trailer in the IMAX app in Vision Pro afterwards and it was pretty damn close. Apple needs to get more IMAX content on Vision Pro.
English

@justinryanio That isn't true, but it certainly is better than anyone's home theater, or the screen in a plane on the seat in front of you.
Seeing F1 in IMAX is way better than Vision Pro.
English

@SadlyItsBradley Agree this makes the most sense. It would take the Vision line to the next level. 🤞

This stacked sensor design could reach up to 20 stops of HDR, which is what the average Human eye is considered capable of
AND real-time hardware noise reduction at the sensor level
If the patent came to fruition, I’d argue it would be most useful for MR passthrough cameras

@rmondello It would be awesome if you could have the team test this Software Update account screen for Passwords app support. Beta 2 leaves a lot to be desired. It’s near impossible to use unless the user manually types password.

English

@KassinosS @tim_cook Fully support. Basing Siri on a cloud platform to play catchup doesn’t change the near term and long term value that MLX brings. MLX, its Apple team and the MLX open source community is the only reason I have faith Apple can be competitive. Don’t screw up a good thing.
English

If the rumors are true and the MLX team is considering leaving, it would mark one of Apple’s worst strategic missteps at a critical moment. Killing MLX wouldn’t just derail Apple’s AI trajectory—it would undercut the entire Studio line and the M-series chips. @tim_cook, nurture the MLX team and let Studio bloom.
If Apple drops MLX now, it’s not just a fumble—it’s a faceplant.
This isn’t a side project—it’s a core enabler of cutting-edge, on-device AI.
@tim_cook, this is your moment to double down. Backing MLX powers the Studio, strengthens Apple’s AI position, and inspires a developer community that’s already all in.
English

@ItsJonLebron Education market is big for Apple. Seems perfect for that.
English

I can’t even fathom how this would be beneficial to their product line. Splitting the capability of the “Mac” between the iPad line up…? Their “notebook” is the Air.
What’s the upsell here?
A 2019 iPad with a permanent keyboard? Nah. Seems like a report to weed out leakers.

@DylanMcD8 And these early betas feel more polished than iOS which is interesting given the scale differences. The only challenge I have had so far is with eye scroll which makes it harder to interact with window controls. Turning that off made it feel as stable as v2.5 to me.
English

@nandoprince93 @sotsu_brand Macs have also supported auto pairing with Apple Keyboards and Mice after connecting the device with USB-C briefly. This is great when temporarily using different MacBooks at a desk. Sadly USB-C iPad Pro don’t support this feature either.
