What kind of YouTube videos/blogs do you really want from me? I have no clue what people want today - please don’t ask for markdown files and skills for stuff :P

One highly requested feature is coming to R2 and that’s having the time and weather right in the driver display!

If you watched any of my R2 videos, if you read any of my R2 articles, if you shared any of my R2 content this past week (and in the coming weeks), I want to THANK YOU! You made it one of the highest traffic weeks ever on RivianTrackr.com and some of the most views on my YouTube channel ever. I truly got emotional when I saw all the interaction because this all started as a little pet project and it has grown so much over the last few years. We're just getting started!

@AAPLTree Is the Neo that thin/light? I thought it was right around a MacBook Air

@ChristianSelig I never want to buy a MacBook Neo then, because everything else will be concrete bricks

Weird sensation has set in after 6 months where the iPhone Air doesn't feel thin anymore, it just feels normal/baseline, but picking up other phones feels like a prop phone

@ChristianSelig I’ve kept using Air inside and Pro Max outside. So no sensations developed lol. Appreciating both, Air to consume media on and Pro for camera and battery.

It certainly helps on one hand, but it’s still not opaque. I didn’t guess. I just processed the image with Acorn.app. If you open it in Preview, process it, and use the trackpad to move it around the letters become clearer. But, it was harder than a direct screenshot due to X’s hammering of the image quality. Would’ve been trivial with the original image. I’m a big fan BTW and hope you do more YouTube videos, too. Cheers.

@codejake @OrdinaryInds Touché! I think it's honestly though just because the person did a piss poor job actually covering the letters, rather than the tool used though

@chofter @jtaby You can run custom, purely local firmware on some of them. Otherwise they're not going to be very good if they can't see

I don't think so, RJ talks about the "offboard" system in the video and that it's a solution that works with all Rivians. They've also stated in the past that it's an open standard. That means they're just going with bog standard V2H (through ISO 15118) like other brands that Enphase and others support. Should be plug and play for most EVs going forward What is not standard is a bidirectional *onboard* AC charger that can do 10-11 kW. Onboard meaning the complex AC to DC conversion already happens in the vehicle and you just have a plug to use it. We see that with the NACS to 120V plug, but that's not anywhere near 10-11 kW

@ChristianSelig lol I hear you man. I think we are actually mostly talking about the same thing. I’m expecting home hardware to be *different* than the enphase product you’re referring to. Something far less complex and less costly.

I’m filming a quick conversation with @RJScaringe tomorrow afternoon. I’m planning to ask him whatever *you* want me to. Submit your questions below, I’ll sort through them, and directly ask him what you want to know.

I don't think I'm explaining myself very well haha. I totally agree on the home solution being able to draw 11 kW, that should be standard V2H that Enphase and others ship later this year, drawing DC directly from the battery and converting it with an external box to AC isn't anything groundbreaking. That's an offboard system that RJ talks about in the video What I'm interested is the *onboard* bidirectional charger he mentions, which he says is unique to the R2, and can do "10-11 kW". Onboard implying the conversion from AC to DC happens in the vehicle, rather than requiring an external box. The R1 can do this as well, but only at 1.5 kW (~12A) The current adapter they show only adapts the NACS port to two 120V outlets, which even if they're 20A each is still only 4.8 kW total I'm curious if the 10-11 kW bidirectional, onboard AC charger that he mentions is unique to the R2 is still in the works and how that operates. Being able to output 240V onboard without needing an external box installed would be really handy, and a big step up from the R1's meager output, and other EVs can do this

@ChristianSelig If you look at the R2 120 plugs, they have the 20a style plug. The internal rear cargo says 1.9kw on it, and it appears the NACS adapter has two plugs like that. I still expect the home solution to be an interface to draw a full 11kw AC off R2.

Right that's what I'm asking about. There's two systems, the standard V2H accomplished via an AC-DC external inverter box and drawing DC directly from the battery that Enphase says works with Rivians and is coming later this year But he also states there's an *onboard*, bidirectional 10-11 kW AC charger. I want details on that. R1 can only do 1.5 kW AC output onboard

@ChristianSelig @itskyleconner @RJScaringe I’m expecting the home solution for R2 to actually be AC. I think it will be a different DC to AC solution for CCS1 equipped R1’s. An AC solution should be far simpler and less expensive to implement. But limited to 11kw vs 20+
