@swerv1978 @Muppetiers That can go both ways though mate. PSG before Enrique were coming into knockout games undercooked because their league was over, they didn’t have a serious rival and it’s hard to just go from relaxing league game to full throttle in a knock out game.

There might be, but I’m not sure the number that I’d be convinced of is that high, and I’m not sure United can get em.

Yeah, but they beat Liverpool, Arsenal, City and Villa in the champions league last season too. French league is not competitive, but it probably has the best hit rate in terms of foreign imports from France to England in terms of players. Enrique isn’t one dimensional. His Barca team were more direct than Peps Barca and played much quicker. It wasn’t tiki taka.

@swerv1978 @Muppetiers Having technical players isn’t changing anything. Scholes and Carrick were technical. You look at Vitinha and Neves, they are not just solid on the ball but off the ball they are work horses. One of the reasons that PSG won the champions league last year.

Pellegrinni stuck around when it was quite clear from day one that Pep would take over. Barca and Madrid always hire stop gaps. Top clubs don’t think short term. Arbeloa won’t be the long term solution once Madrid find a world class alternative. And the manager should not be building the team. You are stuck in the old era. Managers are expendable in nearly every club apart from ours. It should be the people above Carrick who should be building the team. If it was up to our previous manager, we would have Martinez in goal rather than Lammens and Watkins as striker rather than Sesko. It’s quite clear the manager does not have the major say in transfers at United anymore.

Yeah, so sign technical midfielders and build it up. Thats what City did with Pep, everyone knew he was coming but Pellegrinni was the stop gap. So lay the ground work for Enrique and entice him. Man Utd always need technical players who are top class in posssesion in the middle.
