@ryxcommar Do you have a take on “data governance?” Is it a real thing or just a way for folks to outsource their accountability for data availability and quality/integrity risk?
English

I hate writing posts that are more personal and don't have a real point because there is some sort of latent assumption that people should give a shit. I'll state up front that you should not give a shit, but I was still compelled to write it and post it. ryxcommar.com/2022/11/27/goo…

@JakeMcKenna6 @RebeccaMadison_ I’m not trying to push my own lifestyle on others - I’m just saying it’s hypocritical to think eating dogs is immoral because they’re smart/loyal/make good pets and be okay with killing/eating pigs. And if you don’t want drama you should consider getting off Twitter
English

@RebeccaMadison_ @swgold It's very easy to understand. But you all wanna be dramatic
English

@Hghtower42 @RebeccaMadison_ It’s an arbitrary cultural feature is my point. Before I was a vegetarian I lived in Italy and ate horse meat a lot - it was fantastic! Friends back home in America thought it was savagery
English

@RebeccaMadison_ @swgold We have dishes traditionally made with horse meat in Germany (as do many other European countries). Not infrequently still made with horse meat, though often beef.
My family on my dad's side is bigly involved in horseback riding, but I've never really heard any voice opposition

@DHawkiin @Aliceisonfire_ @fitzburgher @RebeccaMadison_ What does tag have to do with the morality of killing a pig vs a dog?
English

@Aliceisonfire_ @fitzburgher @RebeccaMadison_ @swgold Its because raising Bengal tigers for meat is extremely difficult & expensive & ineffective compared to domestic animals such as sheep, pigs, cows, horses...
English

@jspeiser Am I missing something or is this a playbook for ripping off someone else’s product? How do you avoid patent infringement issues?

@mikeduncan have you been following the Chilean constitutional convention at all? What’s your perspective on how it compares to events covered in Revolutions? I would totally listen to a podcast where you use history to contextual current events but can see that being fraught
English

@punk6529 The hypothesis is that asymmetric information makes the market for RE inefficient compared to digital assets. But I wonder if that’s really the case?
English

@crashfrog @EmpireFiles @AbbyMartin Article 3 establishes the judiciary, and Marbury v Madison established the precedent of judicial review. So eliminating judicial review requires that a constraint on power be codified anyway….hence the conclusion that constitution should be amended, not abolish the SC
English

With Roe overturned, @AbbyMartin's case to abolish the Supreme Court & what history shows us about our power to defend our rights against these unelected lords:

@Scholars_Stage This seems pretty chauvinistic. The over-culture problem here is that it causes anyone to feel shame or embarrassment for not being “manly.” Peoples’ worth in society shouldn’t be determined by their gender role.

@alexisohanian Can’t both things can be true? Monetary/fiscal policy has clearly been expansionary to say the least (which is the correct policy response IMO) and inflation exacerbated by supply chain/commodity disruptions. So institutions are saying “this is the best we can do”
