DIVISION TWO//TUESDAY REVIEW A review of the three Division Two games played tonight. As well as grading our predictions… Here we go! 👇 FIXTURE// @GrangetownBC vs @AFCNewbiggin 📊RESULT// Grangetown Boys Club 2-2 AFC Newbiggin Boysie took the lead on 20 minutes, Oscar Mahoney with the decisive swipe after a spot of penalty box pinball. The visitors are a resilient bunch though and they were back on level terms just after the half hour, Michael Johnstone collected a Matty Nelson through ball before slotting home, 1-1. Biggin started the second period brightly but hosts then had a purple patch as the hour approached, the referee waved away penalty claims after James O’Brien looked to be upended. Then Lewis Martin’s effort flew narrowly over Ollie Huddlestone’s crossbar as Boysie pushed. The pressure told on 68 minutes and it was Martin who fired home from range, his fourth goal of the season restoring Boysie’s lead at 2-1. The visitors were awarded a penalty on 77 minutes, Leo Strange made a fine stop to deny Ethan Smith’s spotkick but the rebound fell back to Smith and the 15 goal, in league action, striker made no mistake at the second time of asking to level things up. Strange was injured and outfield substitute Brandon Gredziak donned the emergency keeper gloves for the last ten. An NBA-esque finale ensued with the stand-in stopper making a couple of crucial saves as it ended, with no shortage of drama, in a 2-2 draw. Grangetown extended their home unbeaten league run to four games as they were held for the fourth time at the B&W in league action. A repeat of the Desmond in Northumberland sees them claim a point, which sees them stay in 18th place - four points outside the dropzone. Newbiggin are also unmoved in the league standings as the point, their fourth on the road in the league, sees them remain in 15th place. 🔮REMINDER : OUR PREDICTION// Boysie 2–1 Biggin. PREDICTION RATING// A+ Just a single goal away from a perfect prediction so we can’t be too disappointed. Boysie’s home form is becoming a real plus, while Biggin will be content taking a point back up the A19. Next FIXTURE// @BillinghamTown v @SunderlandRCA 📊RESULT// Billingham Town 0-3 Sunderland RCA The visitors opened the scoring with just eight minutes played, Lewis Lukeman fired home his fourth league goal of the season for 1-0. RCA taking that lead into the break. Lukeman repeated his early goal act in the second half, this time he was even quicker off the mark as he netted his, and RCA’s, second just four minutes after the restart. Shay Pye made sure of the points as he added a third for RCA to make it 3-0. Town’s four game winning league streak came to an abrupt end as they fell to a 6th league defeat of the season at Bedford Terrace. A rare league blank for the NL2’s top scorers sees them end the evening pointless as they remained in 10th place. RCA snapped their run of five successive draws as they collected a league double over Town with their fourth away league victory of the season. The three points saw them leapfrog Sunderland West End into 13th place. 🔮REMINDER : OUR PREDICTION// Town 3–1 RCA. PREDICTION RATING// 💩 Didn’t see this one coming. Obviously. But fair play to Mark Forrest and RCA, a very good win. Town’s outside push for the playoffs take a blow but they will be back. Next FIXTURE// @Westend_FC vs @YarmEaglescliff 📊RESULT// Sunderland West End 0-4 Yarm & Eaglescliffe Harry Williams claimed the first goal of the evening as he planted a header home from a 21st minute corner. Six minutes later it was two. Serial bagsman Tom Atkinson rattled home his 28th goal of the season in all competitions with a superb volleyed effort. Josh Marshall added a third on 33 minutes as slack defending resulted in a chance for Y&E man and he made no mistake with a crisp drive, 3-0. Home stopper Jack Foalle denied Sam Conway with a fine one v one save as the second half got underway but the West End No1 was beaten on 57 minutes as Josh Larkin added a fourth. And after a very wet, but goalless reminder of the half, that was that. It’s now four league defeats on the bounce for Sunderland West End - a 7th league loss at the Hub. A 9th league blank in front of goal sees them end the evening pointless as they drop a place to 14th. Yarm climbed into 2nd place - three points behind Redcar Town at the NL2 summit. A league double completed with an aggregate scoreline of 8-0, as 14th league clean sheet helped them to a 10th away league victory of the campaign. 🔮REMINDER : OUR PREDICTION// West End 1–3 Y&E. PREDICTION RATING// A+ We called four goals so we can be happy with our call but we fancied West End to notch on home turf. The Eagles apply a little bit of pressure on table topping Redcar Town. @swils79 There a quite a few anomalies across the multiple sources we use but we usually get to the bottom of it! 😂 Will update our records - can't be ruining Smithy's New Year can we!

Happy to be corrected but we’ve counted up the scorers on the NL site match results, checked in FWP & our own spreadsheet plus social media records and we still make it 13 league goals. There is an Ethan Scott credited with a goal vs RCA in September and the only Scott’s registered currently with you are Harry & Jed? Couldn’t that be the ‘missing’ goal?

@RangersJournal @MitchLR Very harsh on Curtis. He was positive and direct number of good shots, really good pull back for a great chance, yet Aaron was so weak and constantly got our muscled lost the ball cheaply

Rangers player ratings vs Kilmarnock @MitchLR Butland - 6 - couple of solid saves from Butland throughout and a very good block in the second half timed perfectly. Outside of that not a huge amount to which I’m sure he’ll be pleased about. Aaron’s - 6 - really decent turn out from Aaron’s, brought stability at the back and stay within the right back berth. Solid showing. Fernandez - 7 - another assured performance from the big man at the back who’s growing in confidence game by game. Came forward really well and won 10 of his duels this evening. Djiga - 6 - didn’t put much of a foot wrong this evening, still looks a bit short of confidence but that’ll have helped. Meghoma - 6 - didn’t have a huge amount defensively to do but was a good threat going forward. Delightful ball for moores goal Raskin - 6 - a better display than of late, got forward well and started taking control of the midfield. Influence weaned towards the end. Barron - 8 - MOTM display from Barron covered every inch of the pitch and was a threat going forwards and assured in his defending work. Bajrami - 4 - early injury withdrawal Diomande - 6.5 - some great work and balance in midfield, in the right places and helped the team drive forward. Direct running and good link up. Gassama - 5 - very poor night from the winger, poor decision making again from him. Needs to do much more Miovski - 8 - 2 strong goals that will do him the world of good, lead the line like a leader. Hope this is the start of a run. Substitutes Curtis - 4 - looked very rusty and hadn’t played many minutes. Couple of decent shots but hopefully we see more of him. Moore - 7 - what a way to return with the goal and unlucky to get the second chopped off. Great showings Tavernier - 5 - brought on for freshness game was put to bed. Danilo - 6 - was in the hustle and bustle and looked to enjoy the freedom of the lead. Chermiti - 3 - didn’t have many chance to get on goal needs to impose himself

@johnwalker_1986 Even in previous games this season off the bench he has actually been very good. Covers ground well and makes plenty tackles and interceptions and doesn’t give the ball away whilst not afraid to drive forward. His passing is actually underrated deserves a proper run

Connor Barron v Hibs Penalty aside, which in large looked down to tiredness, been suffering with cramp and was readied to be subbed 5mins prior. Thought he brought everything we've lacked this season in basics; Provide Dig/Energy, Win the Ball & Pass it to others. Felt at times he was doing the running of both CM's with more tactical discipline than others around but also think there are little bits of his technical ability to be showcased more e.g. unlucky with run & a goal-bound blocked shot. It's not fashionable to enjoy someone that just gets stuck in but its undeniable in big games like this what he brings

Gotta Catch 'em All!!🎯 Currently we are 8 short in our quest to have all the Northern League Clubs following us.... The other 34 have seen the light! Can we complete the set this year? If you see your club tag them and let them know we are nice!
