@drklam Yes to all of the above. I also think that we have a deep systems knowledge which places us in the ideal position to effect change and inform policy to address the challenges of an aging society.

That requires a comprehensive knowledge of both medical and other services. Else, you treat diseases that are not the problems people face and waste time; I went into geriatrics because I like a job well done. So: what's your answer to #geriatrics stereotypes?

Complex surgical decision making in older adult. Focus on delirium prevention, goals of care, discuss best case worst case scenarios with patient and assess what matters most to patient. Wonderful set of presentations @AmerGeriatrics @swingfieldmd @UTSWInternalMed #AGS2021

If I have a cup of water, I can put out a stove fire. But I can’t put out a forest fire, even if that water is 100% potent. That’s why everyone must wear a mask. As a nation, we’ll recover faster if you give the vaccine less work to do when it's ready.

One of the most impactful things you can do is to get your flu shot—if you love your friends and family (or even if you don’t), encourage them to be vaccinated too. Call now! (It takes up to 2 weeks to build immunity). #FluShot #COVID19 #Influenza

CDC reported this week that there is now more #fluvaccine available than ever before in the United States. Don’t delay getting your vaccine any longer – #fluvaccine is available in your community now: vaccinefinder.org.
