@nobodydrove His murder, and the general attitude among so many that his murder is only worthy of mockery and not compassion, are fruits of the same propaganda campaign. It's true. Read it again. It's true.

@nobodydrove Gruesomely murdered in a political assassination in front of his daughter. He didn't deserve to die and it shouldn't be made light of. But, you say, That's hypocritical&histrionic rightwing rhetoric. Who gives a shit? It's the truth regardless. You were propagandized to not care.

The Kirkification meme was probably one of the only major successful instances of détournement in recent history & it was entirely accomplished by kids who prob never even heard of the Situationists & just had the impulse to subvert the semiotic structure of obnoxious propaganda

@nobodydrove "The youth were sick of, the youth were sick of" Chickenshit. Plenty of monstrous behavior is powered by being sick of one's own enemies. Grievance-based morality, and all you have for it this sordid violent shit. What matters is your reaction to that video as a human being

@SaintEcclesia @mary_pezzulo @Jolz_Aust God sustains the sinner, the wicked man, in being, bleeds and dies for him, because He LOVES him, and wants to make him righteous - because He LOVES him. He sustains you and me, who are wicked sinners, because he LOVES us. And you are called to LOVE the sinner, as He loved you.

@mary_pezzulo @Jolz_Aust Notice how when you’re presented with scripture, you reject it and run when it doesn’t suit the false faith you follow. You have now seen with your eyes that the Lord hates evil, you are now without excuse. May the Lord forever convict you about this truth, until you accept it.

@SaintEcclesia @mary_pezzulo @Jolz_Aust "God hates the X person" may be understood as "God hates that person's choosing X; "God hates the state of X in that person" That God ceases to love one because they have done evil is absurd. God is Love, and sustains his creation in Love. Without that love you would not exist.

@JeffreyFull @JoyceCarolOates $100 million for a minimalist abstract painting isn't nothing - there's something inherently odd and controversial about it -and publically insulting someone for finding it strange isn't nothing, either. People should be able to have that reaction without being belittled as rubes

@swingship2 @JoyceCarolOates And here’s you trying to make some big fascist point out of nothing, out of ignoring the fact that what is derided is close mindedness, not ignorance. No one feels sorry for you and your supposed culture. Grow up.

Joyce Carol Oates
Joyce Carol Oates@JoyceCarolOates·
you're missing the painting--which exists, not in a cartoon-like two dimensions, but in a very subtly rendered three dimensions which, obviously, you've never seen. ask yourself why you are so hostile to an entire art movement much revered by so many, yet dare to call yourself not a hearty unapologetic philistine --one of a very large tribe--but one who aspires to something called "culture."
The Culturist@the_culturist_

Why is this painting worth $98.3 million? What am I missing?

@JeffreyFull @JoyceCarolOates And you seem to miss my point. Like I said, I don't mind Rothko. What I mind is the complete utter disdain by OP for someone daring to question the standard of cultural prestige. That the aforementioned elites hate the "large tribe of philistines" is not a controversial fact.

@JoyceCarolOates "Sure, we work explicitly to undermine your cultural and artistic heritage and your way of life and supplant it with our own ideology, but if YOU point that out, you're a knuckle-dragging conspiratard." I don't even mind Rothko.

@JoyceCarolOates There is also a "tribe" of the privileged, intelligentsia and cultural elites, who are extremely prescriptive, arrogant and peremptory toward the mass of uncultured philistines, and then clutch their pearls aghast & play dumb when the mass dares to notice and be bothered by it.

"The world's largest Christian denomination..." Oh dear.
OSV News@OSVNews

@VP JD Vance on the upcoming release of Pope Leo XIV's first encyclical, "Magnifica Humanitas", on AI during a press briefing today: "I think when the Pope issues an encyclical on artificial intelligence, it's going to have some influence... I think when the leader of the world's largest Christian denomination speaks on an issue like that, it's certainly going to have some influence, and I'm sure it will contain a lot of insights, some of which I'll probably agree with, some of which I may not, but I think that it's going to be a very, very important document... One of the things I always find fascinating about Pope Leo is that he chose the name Leo XIV, which, of course, is recollecting Leo XIII. Leo XIII was the Pope during a period of incredible industrial transformation in the entire world, of course... I think it was interesting that Leo XIV chose that name to maybe apply Christian social teaching in a new era with a new technological innovation, in the same way that the Industrial Revolution was the technological innovation of its time. So, I think it'll be fascinating. I'm looking forward to reading it. My guess is it's going to have a lot of influence." @Pontifex #magnificahumanitas #AI

@StefanMolyneux God has no need to be efficient. A universe with billions of galaxies is more wondrous, more awe-inspiring, more beautiful, than a universe without. Also, if the lizard is going to be fruitful and multiply, Florida is better than a terrarium, no?

If God created the universe for mankind, why is it so empty of life? What is the point of endless dead planets? It’s like creating a terrarium the size of Florida for one little lizard.
