We are not American. Say it in your heart. Say it when you sleep. We are not American. We will die as Hawaiians. —Haunani-Kay Trask

If Canada's plan worked I would not be here. Generations of children did suffer and die as a direct result of this plan. We were in the way, we are in the way, but we won't go away. There is nothing to celebrate. You shouldn't have to be told. Cancel Canada Day.

Stop asking Indig Ppls what you can do…how you can help… There are an enormous amount of resources available. Have been available. We deserve to be heard and believed.

Tonight I feel like screaming at every person who continues to react with shock What have you been doing the past month? Why was 251 remains in Kamloops not enough for you to stop what you are doing and read the TRC? If you continue to be shocked you are part of the problem!

Friendly reminder, sex work is not human trafficking! This is not an unpopular opinion. It’s [whispers] fact. Anyone confusing the two needs to educate themselves. 🙋🏻‍♀️🥳💪🏼❤️ #sexwork

I have heard so many pretty words like reconciliation, diversity & inclusion. I have been called courageous, brave and strong…But let me be brutally honest nice words with no action hurt when they are uttered by those with power…who refuse to take action cbc.ca/news/politics/…

Underground Railroad stories often neglect the vital role of Indigenous allies in helping Black people escape slavery. We're learning more about that fierce solidarity: cbc.ca/1.6061957

One way to translate “school” in Cree is kiskinwahamatôwikamihk. Mâtowin is “to cry.” It is literally, the building where you go to learn and cry. Much different than kiskinohamâkewin, the act of learning, taught by elders with ❤️ This pic shows the bruised violence #kamloops215

4/5 Also see if there are ways you can help lighten their work or help in other ways in their life so they can spend extra time healing individually and as a community.

1/5 Yesterday a community member pointed out that we need to recognize the ways recent trauma has again disrupted the balance in ourselves, family and community. Our healers, teachers, knowledge keepers, leaders are often IRS survivors.
