A video released during the Eid al-Fitr celebrations shows Al-Shabaab spokesman Ali Dhere sending his son to take part in an istishhadi - or suicide commando - operation carried out by the group in Mogadishu. The attack targeted Jili’ow, a key headquarters of #Somalia’s intelligence agency that also contains an underground prison in the capital. Those who monitor Al-Shabaab say this is only the second time it has surfaced publicly that a senior figure within the group has sent his own son on such a mission. The first involved Yusuf Kabatukade, the current Al-Shabaab governor of the Middle Shabelle region.
