I’ve spent the day enjoying the services of our wonderful NHS, just to be hung up on by a receptionist who relished in telling me they wouldn’t prescribe the medication they’ve given me regularly for several years. This was after an appointment with a medical student (I was told it would be a GP) that was an hour later than the time I was told to be there and he wanted me to stay there for an indefinite time to see an actual GP face to face. I ended up crying tears of frustration so they told me to phone the Samaritans. I don’t want to phone the Samaritans, I just want my very easily prescribed medication.

@REIGNSBACH Yes, in Soho and in the City of London. One of the streets I walk down to get home (Watling Street) is unnavigable after 6pm on Thursday eves from March to November as it’s totally blocked by people drinking. Technically cars can use it but good luck! 🤷🏼‍♀️

@Jingerella66 There is no such thing as a free lunch. Why does everyone want things for free? She could avoid the charge by going to the pharmacy herself, just like she has done today.

I think my 91 year old mother has just been conned out of £55 by Boots. She went in to enquire about Boots Pharmacy dealing with her prescription straight from the doctor's surgery, as someone in Morrisons (who deal with her prescriptions since the drs changed pharmacy) told her Morrisons don't deliver. Apparently, Morrisons can deliver prescriptions for everyone at my mother's assisted living complex, but not her. There is something wrong here. A member of Boot's staff told her they don't deliver NHS prescriptions for free, and made her pay £55 for an' annual pass'. This is nonsense. She's elderly and vulnerable. I will be on their tail tomorrow. A full refund had better be forthcoming pronto.

@Funk2funkDiaz @_yanaboyko 2/2 usually what a license fee would be (ie a few cents per shirt) in EU & maybe a small uplift so it wouldn’t be many thousands of £€$. The system is v frustrating for small creatives sadly 😢 also the infringer is Monte Carlo CC not Rolex/ATP unless they are selling/promoting

Gather evidence of how and when you created the design. Also sadly damages for infringement are not as significant as some on this thread think it’s 1/2

Please help spread the word: I’m honestly shocked to see my illustration being used on T-shirts sold at the Monte-Carlo Masters without my permission or a licence. I never expected something like this from such a major tournament. If someone from the organisers sees this, please contact me so we can resolve this properly. @montecarlorolex @atptour

She has copyright & UCD and can enforce that but cannot register her design as you (incorrectly) suggested. Thanks for mansplaining IP to a professional 😉

@Funk2funkDiaz @_yanaboyko I’ve been a practicing IP lawyer for over 20 years 😂 You’re wrong about higher damages in Europe (the infringement occurred in France) also a reg’d design can only be filed within a grace period of public disclosure & she disclosed in 2024 at latest so it’s too late.

@sybaricious @_yanaboyko Yes your right up to a point but if she ever needs to file an infringement lawsuit. It provides a public record of ownership and may allow her to claim higher damages. So she really should!

Just got back to the U.S. from Europe. Went to a local diner to eat tonight. The way us Americans eat SHOCKS me. Even as someone that’s lived here my whole life. The portion sizes, the oils, the sauces, the sugary drinks, the side of French fries with EVERYTHING, the desserts. It’s all just so shocking. Every single time.

@SimonCalder @eatcookexplore_ Frankfurt airport has its ESS machines up and running for what I understood to be pre registration when I was given the option of scanning my passport, eyes and prints before heading to the usual stamp kiosk on Friday evening.
