Not wanting to play games just because you want to hang out in a fandom space for the social interaction and don't really care about the games themselves but then arguing it's actually about disability and poverty and asking you to actually play the game is ableism and anti poor is kind of....annoying. Especially when 99% the people saying it aren't either and you see they tweet from the latest iphone, have three monitor 4k set ups and talk about how annoying it is their daily door dash is always late but playing any Resident Evil game that's almost always on sale for less than one order of burgers and fries is too far.

@mrs_baelsar @Actually_Tina That's what we usually do as a couple, I take the wheel and my wife usually chimes in about what to do(like want me to kill the lickers head on instead of easy acid bottle throw) which is usually different than how I play but it occasionally mixes things up for me too.

Ive kind of just been watching silently since this is the 800th time ive seen the "Can you be a fan without playing the games" discourse. That being said why is it always easily available games like Resident Evil, Persona 5, Yakuza, etc. Its never something like Haunting Ground

This recent stuff about just playing RE games is eye opening honestly, I didn't think it was this bad. Just how much of gaming discourse over the last decade was steered entirely by people who don't play games and just engage in fandom spaces? Hell how much discourse about anime too? has hobby discourse just been one big Platos cave? have our hobbies and video games been making adjustments and changes entirely based on people who have never gone near what they demand be changed and know actually very little about it. All because its disrupting their social hang out space and not actually out of any personal investment or knowledge of the thing itself.

It is absolutely fine to love anything about anything but pretending to be a fan without any hands on experience isn't that.

It's perfectly acceptable to enjoy it through videos if you want to. Especially given some countries games are just too high price.
