It takes many contributions to deliver this combined functionality— ever more complex interactions - many were also currently innovating. #SystemsEngineering practices enable effective integrated design. We explore their state of adoption in #Automotive

We have big plans for October to do another bioregional activation tour... this one will be in Cascadia. Have a look at our ambitious effort: regeneratecascadia.org I am being invited to give free talks and workshops in about 20 communities from Vancouver to Eugene. Our vision is to work with local organizers to grow their capacities for funding, governance, and visionary actions that serve the region as a whole. This includes a 5-week "bioregional activation tour" followed by a summit in early November. Those of us who have been planning this for months believe it to truly historic and that there is potential for impacts to ripple across the planet. Cascadia is one of the oldest, largest, and most sophisticated bioregional movements on Earth. I lived within its boundaries for a third of my life (nine years in Seattle; five years in Eugene) and I have deep love for her incredible landscapes. Please help us spread the word to your friends that this is happening in October. Go to the website above to get involved. Onward, fellow humans.

We just had a surreal family meeting at midnight to decide whether to drive away from LA tomorrow. My greatest concern is my elderly, disabled mother. We’re planning what to do with her and 3 dogs if place floods, if windows blow in, in case of tornado. I hope the storm subsides.

/5 Can share examples from transit/mobility + infra system design + operational experiences. Most execs and design teams skip these Systems activities during planning or don't obtain SystEngrg support. Reach out if your project can benefit! #SEactivities #SystemResilience

/4 If planning infra project, consider Resilience as a key part of project Purpose, as a key outcome. Full Systems Engrg exploration will guide stakeholders+execs to map ops scenarios, needed functionality. This needs analysis forms basis to assess solutions. #SystemsEngineering

Time to focus on infrastructure system resilience - to better prepare and withstand new weather extremes. Also recognize increasing dependencies between infrastructure - power, telecomms, water, drainage and wastewater and mobility. #Systemsapproach nytimes.com/2023/08/19/bus…

@gradydoctor What a beautiful, brave, honest thread. So resonant to life being life experience, I cried each time I reread it. Prayers to you, your dad and sister. Thinking of you. ❤️ And kudos to that wise intern, who's listening + mirroring your lead. She's going places. #wellness #love

15/ And so. On this first day of intern orientation, I'm pausing for spaced learning to embrace that lesson and share it with you, too. Do what you would have them do. Because your wellness matters, too. And, in all things, we are only saved by love. Yeah. #humanismalways

1/ Her: "Why haven't you left for L.A. yet?" Me: "Huh? Oh. Yeah. I'm pretty much almost done. It's okay." *silence* Her: "But, like is it?" Me: *sighs* "Me rushing there won't change anything." Her: "Depends on who you ask." And after that, we both went back to charting.

Another day, another record for the North Atlantic. Everything is happening so fast, it's hard to get a sense of the enormity of these anomalies, let alone their consequences.

Nice analogy @HelenBevan!... Reminds me of Systems workshop facilitated last week exploring capital planning phase activities to establish agreed Purpose, assess needs across diverse stakeholders: project definition before design/delivery! #Systemsapproach

Its about building team cohesion based on a collective vision & shared goals & ensuring each person is valued for the unique contribution they make. @kvogt @TaylorOgan @Cruise @JenniferHomendy @NHTSAgov "In none of these cases was the assignment intended to blame the driver for causing the crash." BREAKING: Today @NHTSAgov revised its website, removing the misleading claim that human error causes 94% of crashes. Car companies and state DOTs might still repeat that mistruth, but they can no longer cite NHTSA's own language. nhtsa.gov/technology-inn… Before / after
