It could be anyone's guess! Length? Invalid character? @PWTooStrong @aftership ...In the end, it appears it was both! (Credit for supporting multiple SSO providers as an alternative, though.)

Vance is so good: "The American Space Program, the first program to put a human being on the moon, was built by American citizens. This idea that American citizens don't have the talent to do great things, that you have to import a foreign class of servants, I just reject that."

@elonmusk @sajwani @elonmusk I know you want to do good for humanity and America but you also have duty towards your long supporters in terms of your retail shareholders. You have to use your power and influence and connections to put and end to this attacks on Tesla and its customers! Peace ✌️

Ok, we are legit witnessing the greatest geopolitical Streisand effect of my lifetime. I'm seeing dozens of posts on X with massive engagement (10s of thousands of likes and millions of views) praising China and lambasting U.S. anti-China propaganda. I assume this is the same on other social media platforms. It's likely the greatest soft power win China has ever scored by a huge margin. And the funniest thing is China literally did nothing for it: it's entirely organic or, more accurately, triggered by the US government. Will it be sustained? Are we witnessing a turning point where Americans will durably refuse to get brainwashed and gaslighted about China? Let's see... But one thing is sure, especially when you couple this with the vibe shift of younger Americans around Israel, we're entering a new age where U.S. propaganda - once so good that most people didn't even realize its existence - is increasingly ineffective.

@YaroHunka @cgw888 @RnaudBertrand In fairness, it's not quite the same form of capitalism, with the state heavily subsidizing industries and picking winners and losers. It indeed resulted in insane growth, insanely quickly, though.

@Acid_Communist "come to China and land high paying jobs as English teachers." ...The people I know who've done this did NOT make much money at all! They did have housing provided, though. For most people, those teaching opportunities tend to be almost entirely about the experience.

@DaddyWarpig Old post, but Firefox! Brave has hacked support for ManifestV2/uBlock, but it'll be tough as Chromium diverges more. Very bad for 1 company to control the entire future of internet standards (95% of browsers are Chromium-based, whose dev is led by Google.) Firefox is independent!

You shouldn’t be using Chrome anyway. Also, Google owns Chrome, Google owns YouTube, adblockers futz with YouTube, so this is a move to make the browser worse to support their ad revenue. Like I said, you shouldn’t be using Chrome anyway.
Brave@brave

Chrome now warns users that it won't support ad blockers like uBlock Origin soon. Reminders: - Brave will still support uBlock Origin, AdGuard, NoScript, and uMatrix after Chrome stops doing so. - Google's Manifest V3 changes won't break Brave's built-in ad blocking.

Dear @elonmusk as a former friend may I suggest that dealing with climate change and protecting democracy might be a better use of time and money than giving racists and antisemites a social media platform

I'm STILL holding out hope that @thelittleidiot (Moby) will finally do the right thing and return Gregor's CDs that led to him becoming a superstar. It's just the pettiest thing, and made me lose all adoration I once had for the guy. (Pops into my head ever few months.)

@watchchrislearn @nateberkopec This is the way! Many of the Fractal Design Define series of cases are super roomy. I have an R5 with 10 drives currently. (Also Unraid here, because it's so great for home use, but my main point was to emphasize the case in case they want to use a hardware array or something.)

@nateberkopec I have an Unraid server, in a Fractal Define case (excellent). Don’t worry about SATA port count, PCI expansion cards for SAS can easily add 8-16 extra ‘sata’ ports with little effort Airflow over spinning disks is certainly important, but decent case fans are pretty quiet

Anyone ever built their own NAS? Seems kinda fun. My main concern is noise, but it feels like if you BYO then you can bling out the fans and not have to worry too much.

@eBay (2/2) Good/Neutral/Bad feedback is simply not enough detail to make an informed decision on eBay. Product Reviews are not a replacement! This isn't Amazon—many products are unique. Or used! Reviews comparing products in diff. conditions across diff. sellers are useless.

@eBay No descriptions in Feedback is a bad decision that will really hurt buyers. High volume sellers can have great % ratings, but terrible customer service, which you only learn from the descriptions! I'm only buying from people with 100% now—just not worth the risk.

@Michael9Turk @Palworld_EN Pokémon isn't the same as Digimon Palworld using AI to make their monsters (which used Pokémon's patents), are the issue. If you braindead just say that bozo.

Regarding the Lawsuit Yesterday, a lawsuit was filed against our company for patent infringement. We have received notice of this lawsuit and will begin the appropriate legal proceedings and investigations into the claims of patent infringement. At this moment, we are unaware of the specific patents we are accused of infringing upon, and we have not been notified of such details. Pocketpair is a small indie game company based in Tokyo. Our goal as a company has always been to create fun games. We will continue to pursue this goal because we know that our games bring joy to millions of gamers around the world. Palworld was a surprise success this year, both for gamers and for us. We were blown away by the amazing response to the game and have been working hard to make it even better for our fans. We will continue improving Palworld and strive to create a game that our fans can be proud of. It is truly unfortunate that we will be forced to allocate significant time to matters unrelated to game development due to this lawsuit. However, we will do our utmost for our fans, and to ensure that indie game developers are not hindered or discouraged from pursuing their creative ideas. We apologize to our fans and supporters for any worry or discomfort that this news has caused. As always, thank you for your continued support of Palworld and Pocketpair. pocketpair.jp/news/news16

@JohnONolan @KagiHQ Same (about a year for me). I do still Google on a rare occasion, but only for shopping. Otherwise, yeah ,results are straight up better for my use cases, especially with the customizability.

Has now been about 6 months since I switched to @KagiHQ as my default search engine - and I haven't missed Google once. It's amazing how good search can be if you're willing to use a paid service that's totally ad-free! (They have generous free trial, very worth test driving)

A statement on the leaked DOJ indictment today: A year ago, a media startup pitched my company to provide content as an independent contractor. Our lawyers negotiated a standard, arms length deal, which was later terminated. We are disturbed by the allegations in today’s indictment, which make clear that myself and other influencers were victims in this alleged scheme. My lawyers will handle anyone who states or suggests otherwise.

@DocAvvers @Israel @cogatonline Came here for this--can't believe this didn't cross their mind before creating the post. And a short video clip of 1 portion of 1 street taken with a potato isn't even convincing propaganda!
