While the Ford government hasn’t shared many details about the plans for Billy Bishop, they have revealed the scale of ambition - 10M passengers per year. This is the parking, circulation, and drop-off infrastructure at YEG, which handles about 8M annual passengers:

Genuinely confused as to why, with Ford sinking in the polls, @liberal_party seems to want to attach themselves to him — via one of his even worse than usual schemes. Toronto knows Ford’s never met a boondoggle-on-the-lake he didn’t like, this is such bad local branding, Libs.

Trillium Park is but one of the many casualties of our public waterfront should Ford’s ill thought out “vision” goes ahead.
And, of course, the Toronto Islands.

30 million dollars was spent to transform an abandoned parking lot into a beautiful waterfront park. Trillium park is a peaceful oasis for jogging, cycling, fireside chats and walks with the dog but it could soon become the closest mainland point to a massive new jetway. So sad!

Not that it matters much, jets buzzing the beaches, the additional traffic will devalue the entire waterfront. Ford’s plan is a blueprint for a massive slum on the lake.

@accfanto @DrKateTO @RunChiNguyenRun That’s my hope, I believe @MarkJCarney place his cards pretty close to his chest, which can be frustrating to watch but it isn’t necessarily ineffective. Although I also believe this may be an issue that the @liberal_party mistakenly believe Toronto is largely indifferent to.
