Florentino knew what he was doing with that Press Conference.
The only way he could talk about Real Madrid (on field issues) freely like a fan & a president at the same time is in an interview, not a press conference.
People say that was damage control. Those of you saying that only read the press conference on MadridXtra & Madridzone or watched some 2mins clips somewhere.
If you followed the interview, he said it even before starting that he’s not there to talk about the football on field matters. From the start, he was coming for the media because he feels they are taking advantage of the bad performances to say the club is in shambles, and also making it look like it’s about to explode.
Now, you might say “the on field issues should be the focus”, which could be right, but you’re speaking from the angle of a Real Madrid football team fan. He is looking at it from a President’s lens.
In his head:
- Although the football team is struggling.
- The Basketball team is good.
- Real Madrid girls are doing okay as a new team.
- The finance is perfect.
- We have the most valuable squad in the world.
- The youth team still working in same system as always been.
This is why he’s furious, cause the media is making it look like it was the end of the world, and that is a trap, a trap to make it seem like he has lost his touch and he’s put the club in shambles. Rumors started coming out that he had cancer, making it seem like he can’t handle the club anymore, which is a campaign for him to leave.
That’s why he asked for re-elections, whoever is running the campaign for him to leave or whoever wants to run “when” he leaves can do that now, if you win he leaves, if not, let him do his job.
It’s easy to laugh at whatever he’s saying and call him names because you expected him to talk about Tchouameni fighting and we losing to Bayern and truly act like the club is in shambles. The thing is that’s exactly what the media wants him to do, to make it look like the club is in shambles when things are fine. He did the opposite, they didn’t see it coming.
To Florentino Perez, regards the football, he’s not panicking, he ‘knows’ he can solve the puzzle, it’s not the first time. Taking longer, but it’s not impossible. He’s not panicking like the media wants him to.
Now, since the old guard(3peat team) is gone, the mentality is gone. Who changed the mentality that later helped build the 3peat team?
Who laid the foundation? JOSE MOURINHO.
You can say, “he’s lost his touch”, I think that too, but that’s not Perez’s target, his target is to bring back that winning mentality to the team. A lot of people are thinking he’s coming to discipline the players, no, he’s coming to restore and remind them what the club is about.
In the interview, spoke as a fan, not just the President. Said what he thinks of Mbappe being the best player as some fans say and also said Vini won us the last two UCL as some fans also say. Talked about the booing, fight issues, getting a new player, Negreira case, Alonso’s arrival and why he failed and many other things. You cannot see him do that in a Press Conference, doesn’t make any sense.
After that Press Conference
- Tebas has spoken
- Barca put out a statement
- As the press conf. was on, the president of ABC & Relevo(the media house Perez was blasting) resigned.
- Their reporters put out a statement.
The whole of Spain was alert😂
So, for those of you that’s saying the interview was damage control, means you don’t know Florentino Perez as much as you thought you did. Just stick to Madridxtra and Madridzone and just enjoy the show.

@timmyhasagoatee Clearly not been in the gym for more than a year. You would have a different opinion.

@King__Vibes @MadridXtra And who told you they allowed Mbappe go😂😂😂 do you know how many offers they made to keep Mbappe but he only wanted Madrid😂 you guys will f000lishly come and type nonsense because you refuse to have sense

🚨💣 BREAKING: Enrique Riquelme sends a LETTER to Florentino Pérez:
“Dear President, Allow me to convey, before any other consideration, my sincerest respect and gratitude for all that you have represented for Real Madrid over these past decades. Under your leadership, Real Madrid has not only won unforgettable titles and dominated world football, but has also strengthened its independence, its institutional prestige, and its position as the most admired sporting entity in the world.
Precisely because of the enormous respect you deserve, I am writing to you from Mexico, where I am for professional reasons and where I have learned of the possibility of an imminent and swift call for the presidency of the club. I fully understand that any decision you make will be guided by your love for Real Madrid and your desire to protect the institution. Given the historical significance of the moment our club is experiencing, I humbly believe that Real Madrid deserves time, composure, and reflection.
Our Club, after almost twenty years without a participatory electoral process that calls upon members to build Real Madrid together, maintains a rigid schedule that is incompatible with the promotion of participation and dialogue required by modern democracies. Members, spread throughout Spain and abroad, deserve time and tranquility to calmly discuss the future of Real Madrid. Time to discuss how to preserve the values that have made this club timeless: exemplary conduct, institutional elegance, respect for the opponent, excellence, unity, and the ambition to remain the world's leading sporting institution.
For all these reasons, and with the utmost respect, I would like to convey our full willingness to engage in dialogue in the coming days and agree on a broader process that allows and encourages the genuine participation of members and Real Madrid supporters in its future. As you yourself mentioned in your press conference, a more transparent and innovative process is needed to address the persistent shortcomings surrounding, for example, postal voting or the availability of information and contact for members with voting rights. An agreed-upon process for this election should ensure another twenty years of stability, leadership, and greatness for Real Madrid and prevent the club from entering a period of division, polarization, and internal tension.
To avoid any insinuations that might distract from the ultimate goal of this proposal for dialogue and unity, I must make it clear that I meet all the financial and seniority requirements to present a candidacy. I possess the economic capacity and financial experience that Real Madrid requires, as demonstrated by the recent successful $2 billion bond issuance by Cox, a company of which I am Executive Chairman and in which I own 75%. However, I sincerely believe that the path I am proposing would be best for the members, for the institution, and for the future of the club.
Truly eternal institutions are those that know how to unite experience and renewal, past and future, legacy and continuity. And few institutions in the world bear such a great historical responsibility as Real Madrid. Whatever his decision, his presidency already belongs forever to the greatest history of football, and guaranteeing the unity of Real Madrid supporters through a participatory, calm, and transparent process would be the best legacy for the future of Real Madrid. At your service, Enrique Riquelme, Member No. 43858 of Real Madrid Football Club.”

@MadridXtra So if Perez didn’t come out yesterday he would have continued to be a snake behind the shadows right? Saw people talking like the old man didn’t know what he was doing.

The summary of the letter is that he included every possible excuse not to run against him.
It is a weak statement, more typical of someone looking for attention and publicity than of a serious person who is genuinely ready to face an election.
Anyone who wants to become president of Real Madrid does not start by making excuses, but by presenting a clear project, a strong team, and a real ability to compete.
Fake candidates 🤮

Bro worked on every single muscle in his body just to still have chicken feet 🐓😭
The quads are insanely developed…
the knees are fighting for survival…
and the feet look completely unrelated to the build 💀
This is proof that no matter how hard you train, genetics will always humble somebody 😂
