To clarify, my contention is the winning candidate is the one who the largest number of people in the district previously voted for the most times. People love to vote for people they already voted for! And to overcome this, rizz is more powerful than money (eg Kat, Zohran)

Looking at the IL races…in every case, the quasi-incumbent won: Stratton has won multiple statewides, Raja hasn’t. Biss has been elected in basically IL-9 half a dozen times. Ford in IL-7 a dozen times. Miller in IL-2 twice. It’s all fundamentals. Did the spending do anything?
