Very saddened to hear of the passing of the generous and large hearted Qamar Ahmad or Q, as we inevitably called him. He helped me a lot on my first tour of England in 1990 where I was a wide-eyed novice on most matters. And I won't forget his emotionally told story of going back to the family village in India, while on tour with Pakistan, where he was warmly received with stories of his father. Always greeted me with a hearty laugh. I have only warm memories of Q and I will be surprised if anyone else has any other. Khuda Hafiz Q Bhai. Salaam.

Today is my birthday! And I’m thinking of the time when I posted this three years ago, trembling with fear. See, I had been a houseplant all my life. Born into the top of the socioeconomic ladder, protected, kept. But the thing with being a houseplant is… you’re depending on human beings for sustenance and survival. Humans that are by nature weak, fickle, fragile. One day they will water you to the brim, other days they might forget. Houseplants often die of neglect or mishandling. Even with a dedicated gardener, a houseplant will only grow to a limited height, stay contained, orderly, small. 🪴 But have you seen trees that grow in forests? They have thick, deep roots; limitless in height; abundant; majestic. How do trees survive in the wild? Who waters them? Who is their gardener? Three years ago, I made the decision that I will not depend on humans to be my gardeners. I took a leap of faith, knowing that I didn’t ask to be born, and I am not the doer of things. The God that brought me here will also sustain me, restore me in my rightful place; He will water me, He will protect me and He will take care of me. I uprooted myself from the small pot I was planted in at birth to the big, mighty jungle, knowing that I am not the doer of things, God is. My only job is to surrender and put one foot after the other. And what a journey the last three years have been! A journey of abundance, learning, rebuilding and ascending. Using my brain to get everything I wanted and more. Knowing that there is nothing life can throw at me that I can’t handle. Loving people from a place of abundance, not survival; and never giving the reins in the hands of any human again. It is true what they say - courage is the ability to do the right thing despite fear, it is not the absence of fear. One of the best feelings in this otherwise brutish life is to be proud of yourself. To walk with a straight spine. To witness yourself become a force of nature. This is just the beginning! Onward, upward and forward; God willing 🌳 🌳 🌳

I recently had surgery, and at the time I came home, I had both my cat and one of my grandma's cats staying with me. - Within hours of surgery, I wake up from a nap to my cat gently sniffing at my incisions with great alarm. - I was not allowed to shower the first day after surgery, and the cats, seeing that The Large Cat is not observing its cleaning ritual, decided I must be gravely disabled and compensated by licking all the exposed skin on my arms, face, and legs. I currently have to sleep with a pillow over my abdomen because my cat insists on climbing on top of me and covering my incisions with her body while I sleep (which is very sweet but not exactly comfortable without the pillow). She also lays across me facing my bedroom door, presumably on guard for attackers who may try to harm me while I'm sleeping and injured. That's love. 🐈 🐈‍⬛♥️

2 years ago today, this amazing community helped Simon and I through our grief as we lost our ginger ninja, Henry. Henry was so handsome and he absolutely KNEW it. He used it to his full advantage. For belly rubs, treats but also when he was so very naughty! We miss you, every day.

This is one of my favorite pictures of Sid. Sid has an upper respiratory infection he did get a convenia shot and he is making progress each day. we took Sid to the vet yesterday he has been having a harder time with each flare up due to his age. Sid had lost some weight

اس بھائی نے باہر سے کھانا لا کر میکڈونلڈز میں بیٹھ کر کھانا شروع کیا۔مینیجرز کی دوڑیں لگ گئی۔سینئیر مینیجر اور ساتھ فلور مینیجر بھاگے آئے اور بولے سر باہر کا کھانا یہاں کھانے کی اجازت نہیں ہے۔آپ میکڈانلڈز سے کچھ کھا لیں۔تو بھائی بولے میں نے میکڈانلڈز کا بائیکاٹ کیا ہوا ہے۔لیکن چونکہ باہر گرمی کی شدت چوالیس ڈگری ہے اور جہاں سے کھانا لیا ان کے پاس ڈائیننگ ایریا نہیں ہے۔تو میں یہاں آ گیا۔مینیجرز کافی پروفیشنل تھے لیکن تھے تو انسان ہی ۔باہر گرمی کی شدت کو مدنظر رکھتے ہوئے اس بھائی کو باہر نہیں نکالا لیکن اسے میکڈانلڈز والا بیگ لا کر دیا کہ اپنا کھانا اس میں رکھیں اور اندر رکھ کر ہی کھالیں۔بظاہر یہ بہت معمولی اور چھوٹا عمل تھا لیکن مینیجرز professionallyبھی کامیاب ہوئے اور Humanly بھی۔کم از کم میرا تو دل جیت لیا میکڈانلڈز کے ان مینیجرز نے۔

発表にあった通りW杯メンバーから離脱する事になりました。 怪我をしてからここまで、自分にできることは全てやってきたので何も後悔はありません。 もちろん今回のW杯に出場できない悔しさはありますが、それよりもカタールW杯後からキャプテンとしてこのチームを引っ張り「W杯優勝」という目標を当たり前に口にできる集団へと一緒に成長してこれた事を誇りに思います。 今のチームは本当に素晴らしいチームです。 どんな逆境も乗り越え、まだ見たことのない景色を見せてくれると思います。 自分は今回の活動をもって代表を引退する事にします。 なので、これからは1人のファンとして日本代表を応援していきます。 将来、日本代表がW杯で優勝する瞬間は必ずきます。 それを信じてみんなで応援しましょう。 そしてその瞬間が今大会になるように、日本の力を１つにしてみんなで北中米W杯挑んでいきましょう！！ みんな、やるだけ🔥 遠藤航
