@AndrewKnollNHL Yep. Vegas’ entry draft was completely new, and- credit to them- they nailed it. Their team building history is unlike any other in the league.

@talkanasports Thanks, wasn't my intent to imply that. Every expansion era has been different. The Original Six teams had terrible terms and the 70s ones were even worse. WHA merger was a different animal. Then 90s were in the middle. Now the recent ones, high fees and greater opportunity.

In nine seasons #ForgedInGold has reached the conference finals five times, as many as #FlyTogether has in 32 campaigns.

I’m still all for that trade. I think Carlson was a great addition and was great in round 1, but if the choice is between Trouba & Carlson, you go Trouba everyday.

@AndrewKnollNHL I agree- it is factual, but the tweet is also implying the franchises started with the same rules. Expansion draft is a tad different than it used to be. (Really like your coverage of the So Cal teams, not tying to rip on ya)

@talkanasports It's just a factual statement, not really an evaluative one. Ducks have had a very nice run, have to compare mostly closely with the other '90s expansion teams. After the Lightning you've got the Ducks, Sharks and Panthers being pretty successful.

There will be a fair amount of dooming tonight, but I'll just say this. Anaheim entered the season with one goal in mind - make the playoffs. They did, and they made some noise. They won a series nobody gave them a chance in. Sucks to go out like this, but I'm proud.

@JackMac I think it stems from growing up a hockey fan in Southern CA in the 90’s-2000’s. Everyone only cared about the Lakers, and I tried to get into it, I couldn’t do it. I did not understand (still don’t) how basketball is so much more popular.

Hockey playoffs are great. The constant tweets from its biggest fans comparing it to the NBA is weird. It happens every year. Maybe in 1985 when there was 10 channels and you couldn’t get all the games, but it’s 2026. This goal happened when no NBA game was on. It was an amazing comeback from 3-0 down and the first thought was to tweet about the NBA ?
