A good-natured PSA: It was me. I came up with the term #CorporateUnderpants. No, really, I did. Thanks to all my UX pals letting me know when it pops up! Love that it still resonates today. My c.2005 post and receipts just posted on LI! linkedin.com/posts/tamara-a…

The only assumptions that can hurt your product are the ones you don’t know about and ALIGNING assumptions can change everything. link.medium.com/HbWiClioQDb I'm doing a series on personas and executive alignment on linkedin! Or you can find it on tamaraadlin.substack.com

We took Bernie to see an amazing lady who knows bunnies. She shaved his yucky fur, showed us how to care for him better, gave us supplies, and told us a better vet to take him to. She is our hero.

What’s better than going to a crypto conference? Not going to a crypto conf. but being presented without even asking for it! Thanks to Tamara @tamaraadlin for showcasing @ZenGo at ETHbuild SF last week in her talk of the best practices of web3 design youtu.be/2aZ7bYzt15Y

vitalik and jordi struggling to do something in @MetaMask on a live stream with thousands of people watching couldn't be more of a wakeup call that the ux needs a complete overhaul

Nail your value proposition and differentiator. In plain english, what do you offer that no one else is offering, and why should I, your user or customer, care? What's in it for me? Now put that on your home page. That's all for now! But there's much more.

Hello again! My Wallet UX Teardown talk is now up on YouTube. I spoke to the #ethdenver2023 audience about how crypto wallets will need to change if we really, truly want non-cryptohead humans to use them. Here's a summary of my #UX advice (thread): youtu.be/oTpuxYj8JWI?t=…

Test early and often with real people. It doesn't even matter that much HOW you do the testing. But you must watch actual humans who are similar to your targets actually try to use your stuff. You'll #appreciHate your findings.

Hire Web2 UX pros. UX people are trained to make new technologies make sense to human beings. It doesn't matter that we don't know everything about Web3. We didn't need to know how packets work to make email easier to use. We know how humans work.

Hunt mercilessly for edge cases. Your users will find them and blame you for them...and rightly so.

Design the unhappy paths! Anyone can launch something that works when everything is working. What happens to your users when stuff breaks? Did you design that part too? If not, you should.

Design the happy path, INCLUDING all the integrations. For example, if you design a wallet, the experiences of proving your identity and purchasing assets are part of YOUR experience too even if you use a 3rd party. It's your job to make sure it all makes sense.

Fix your empty state. This is especially true of #cryptowallets but not limited to them. Offering tons of options that don't work for new users isn't the best idea. Instead, use the fact that only a few things are possible to simplify the user interface and flow.

Add more words to your user interfaces. The #web3 zeitgeist is 'it has to be white text on black, and the fewer words you use the better.' Easy-to-use does NOT equal 'nothing to read.' And hiding complexity does not get rid of complexity...it just hides it.

Create a glossary for whatever you are building. It seems dumb and super-basic, but I bet you will find words that have multiple definitions, multiple words with the same definitions, words you are defining differently than everyone else for 'branding' reasons, etc. Fix them.

Never say 'user' if you want to be user-centered. Outlaw the word, and words like 'customer, developer, institution' etc. They're too inspecific to be helpful and they cause huge invisible communication and design issues.
