Thousands of people lost their job at Xbox today. Somehow, Matt Booty is not one of them and keep failing upwards with his infinite track record of mismanagement and underdeveliveries. Amazing.

It's batshit insane to me that Turn 10, a studio that's LITERALLY never shipped anything less than a GREAT game (Metacritic receipts attached) – is being reduced to, perhaps, a support studio with these cuts. What an absolutely brutal business gaming is.

This is fucking insane and shows how mismanaged Xbox Studios is.

What an awful ending to an amazing show. CoD was the most disappointing and boring "one more thing" I've ever seen.

@Satchafunkiluss Same. I don't care about game exclusivity and in fact I think the more platforms it reaches, the better. However, TRUST is important because that's how people make a decision to invest in an ecosystem. Otherwise you won't build a game library and spend thousands of hours on it.

@tamelucas I don’t care about trusting them. I own one console that I love and play daily with friends. If a game I like comes out, I’ll get it. I don’t care if it’s only on Xbox or not. It doesn’t matter at all to me.

February 2024: "They are not Starfield or Indiana Jones" (Phil Spencer, about Xbox multiplatform titles) August 2024: the game is coming to PS5 in Spring 2025. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Why does it matter if Xbox is trustable or not? Well, as a gamer, I don't care. As a Xbox hardware owner, I'd want it to survive and the current strategy (not only multiplayer) is constantly making their own platform less and less atractive.

Every time a new Xbox studios game is announced, instead of talking how amazing it looks (like Indiana Jones), the news / online talk is mostly focused on speculating whether it'll be on PS5. It is a direct consequence of the "case by case" strategy and the confusing messaging.

@PastorXbox The fact they decided to NAME these games, only for one of them to be announced as part of the multiplatform strategy 6mo later tells me, as a consumer, that either I'm not hearing the full truth or that they don't have a clear strategy on what's ahead. I never said Phil lied.

@PastorXbox My point is that they (Microsoft) decided to EXPLICITLY MENTION these two games and rule them out of the short term multiplat strategy. Sure, it wasn't part of the first 4, but it was the 5th. The "case by case basis" just creates endless source of speculation and misinformation

@LoboDoot I'm not saying he's lying. I'm saying he's delivering confusing messages on purpose, covered in corpo language. And I don't think that's helping Xbox nor its customers. Xbox leadership messaging is anything but transparent or consistent.

@tamelucas 4 games were announced. None of those 4 games were Starfield or Indy. There's no lying involved whatsoever lol.
