I do wish people would stop trying to compare Kilmarnock’s “pitch invasion” when winning the Championship to last week’s shambles at Celtic Park. When the fans came on the Rugby Park pitch it was after the full time whistle. The game was FINISHED unlike last weekend!

The numbers behind this transfer underline the ambition being shown by Rangers. Hearts bringing in unknown diamonds aplenty with Jamestown showing its value. No matter what happens this season, Celtic's days of sauntering to titles & benchmarking against dysfunction look over.

🚨Rangers have agreed a loan to buy deal with Wolfsburg for Danish winger Andreas Skov Olsen. @RangersReview55 revealed Skov Olsen was keen to move to join Danny Rohl's side and talks had started over a fee to keep at Ibrox beyond the summer. rangersreview.co.uk/news/25763403.…

This was the one situation we didn’t want. Where either Celtic won heavily today or Hearts got the point they needed. Wednesday’s terrible decision has what’s decided this title. Big questions to be asked.

The test of whether a man is reasoning or rationalising is simple. Show him two pieces of evidence pointing in opposite directions. Watch which one he treats as proof and which one he treats as noise. Last night was that test, played out in real time, in front of every viewer in the country. Two incidents in the same match. The same standard of evidence on the replay. One treated as outrage. One treated as if it never happened. The footage did not pick a side. The men describing it did. A fact chosen to win an argument has stopped being a fact. It is a prop. And the moment a man starts selecting his evidence by outcome, he is no longer analysing anything. He is defending a verdict he reached before he sat down. There are only two explanations. He cannot see the contradiction, which is incompetence. Or he can, and is hoping you can’t, which is bias. Neither flatters him. Both have been on display for years. Last night just made the costume slip. The replay closes the question of the penalty. The reaction closes the question of the men paid to comment on it.

@grahamruthven Fair enough to debate whether the laws need to be changed, but the law supports that being given as a penalty. Also fair to seek improvements to VAR in Scotland. Clubs need to invest in it rather than run away from it. Otherwise we are a football backwater.

Last night felt like a watershed moment that will ultimately lead to some sort of change around VAR in Scotland. This can’t continue. Our referees aren’t good enough to use it and the quality of VAR isn’t good enough to be used.

@johnwalker_1986 Fair comment, by all means look at that, seems proportionate to the offence. Which is distinctly different from the ridiculous reaction to the decision from people who should know better. Current laws = penalty.

Change the Handball Rule Episode 1,459 Motherwell v Celtic: > Does the ball hit Sam Nicholson's hand? I think so > Is Sam Nicholson making his body shape bigger? No > Are Celtic in a Scoring Position? No, he wins the duel with another player behind him. Why is a crowded headed clearance turned into a free shot at goal from 12-yards?! Just turn these incidents into IDFK's and remove all the controversy, surely?!
John Walker@johnwalker_1986

Can We Change the Handball Rule? I feel for something as severe as a penalty, the punishment has to fit the crime: > A Deliberate Handball Offence > Blocking a Goalbound Shot (Deliberate or Not) For other offences, could we start to introduce Indirect FK's: > Crossing into Crowded Areas > Shots Going Off Target > Headers Going Away from Goal The attacking team still get some advantage and the defending team are penalised but it feels like the punishment fits the crime a little better... Thoughts?

@mstewart_23 Thats fine Michael, but they and you are wrong. The desire for pundits, journos and ex-players to see Hearts win the league has clouded their judgement on this.

@Oxladesoup88 @IncognitoCelt @hotchy1 @TheParkheadF Some folk dont know when to stop digging. He is suggesting Hearts can afford to pay roughly 1/3rd of their yearly turnover on one player. Thats the same as us paying circa £40m for one player, that aint happening either.

Celtic are reportedly "leading the race" for Bodo/Glimt striker Kasper Hogh heading into the summer. But Hearts are also said to be tracking the Danish frontman. Norwich City were also keen on a deal but saw a bid rejected - with the Norwegian side reportedly upping their valuation from £7million to £10million for the 25-year-old - however, Bodo were prepared to cash in. That price hike followed progress in the Champions League and Bodo escaped the league phase. Speaking to SpilXperten, Italian transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio noted interest coming from Celtic Park and Tynecastle. He said: “It is true that both Celtic and Hearts want Kasper Hogh. Celtic is leading the race for him, but Hearts really want him as well.” “At this moment, Celtic are leading the race to get him, so it is very likely that he can join Celtic. “But Hearts are still insisting on getting him, so they will try to convince him until the very end and then the decision is up to Kasper Hogh.”

@IncognitoCelt @TheParkheadF Hearts turnover is over £20m per year. But they will pay £7m to £10m for a player? Even if it is staggered its still not sustainable.

@tammcd @TheParkheadF They’ll be in Europa league next season and will definitely sell Braga in the summer for a decent chunk. They’ll sell out Tynecastle too at least 4 times in Europe. They will buy if bodo agree to structured payments which is how majority of transfer fees are paid now.

@IncognitoCelt @TheParkheadF Hearts are going to pay between £7m and £10m for a footballer when their record transfer fee is around £3m. Also busting their wage structure in to the bargain?

@TheParkheadF Hearts will probably beat us to signing him.. Hearts are more ambitious in every single way. We don’t even have a manager for next season or a DOF. The fans don’t trust the club to sign actual good talent as they have proven time and time again they squander money.

@timmymhallet67 @PaulJohnDykes When it comes to ST renewal and merch responsibilities business certainly dictates. As i said, plenty of other things to have a go at the club about. IMO this isnt one of them.

One way traffic from the club, which has become the norm under this regime. Fans have been asked to stump up for season ticket renewals and a new kit in the last week. How did they prepare us for these launches? By staging an interview with the interim Chairman that was full of the usual waffle that insults the intelligence of the entire fanbase. We don’t know who the new management team will consist of, or who the Chairman & Head of Football Operations will be. We don’t know what the club is doing to improve our recruitment strategy or whether the CEO who has overseen the most dysfunctional season in recent memory will still be at the club. They are relying on our love for Celtic outweighing our disdain for the Board. Something’s got to give.

@timmymhallet67 @PaulJohnDykes Have to agree to disagree here. ST renewals and Kit have never been dictated by anything other than business timescales. But PJD and the Collective have got in to this mindset of negative response to everything from the club. This is clear evidence of that.

@tammcd @PaulJohnDykes Let’s look at this in isolation to ACSOM. Certainly not a cronie. The league is over in 10 days. Flogging merch, renewing underwhelm players’ contracts &, to a lesser extend, ST renewals, could have waited.
