Taking you back to three years ago when I had the privilege of covering the repatriation of nine Lakota children who were marched far from home to attend the Carlisle Indian Boarding School in Pennsylvania & died before they ever made it back. Their return into the womb of their homelands of the Rosebud Sioux Nation was one of the most powerful ceremonies I’ve ever witnessed. Generations lost. Generations broken. But the new generation, the one they couldn’t extinguish, rises in healing and reclamation.
