We’ve got some BIG time recruits on campus this afternoon.

Brandon Jones with another birdie on hole 14 to get himself back to +1 on the day and +5 for the tournament. Three holes left to play in his final round.

Freshman, Brandon Jones makes the turn in the first round of The Marlin Invitational at 36(E). Nine more holes to go on a windy and cold day here in Virginia Beach.

At 27yo I was blessed to get my first sinus infection ever. It was kind enough to give me an ear infection too. Tbh, I didn’t know adults could even get ear infections Add that with these cold/windy qualifying days and it = Coach has been riding the struggle bus HARD this week.

Ferrum Golf currently sits in 6th place in the field of 16 teams at the Pfeiffer Invitational. Led today by the strong play of senior duo @chasesells7 and @BrettPenningto7 . We’re looking for a strong finish tomorrow to start off our spring season on the right foot.

Huge day for Ferrum Golf, we’ve landed some big commits in the last few weeks, and we were blessed to add two more local golfers today that are going to be special players. We’ve got some exciting talent on its way, and we are a program on a mission right now. #ForgedAsOne

Coaches must have a small group of people that they trust/respect, and be able to take criticism from those people. You must also be able to criticize your own shortcomings. I made a ton of mistakes this fall, I’ve taken a few weeks to reflect, now it’s time to make big changes.

The silent destroyer of any Teams culture is the person who sees themselves as PRIVILEGED and under a different set of guidelines than everybody else. It never ends well.

Congratulations to former Ferrum Golfer, Matthew Jordan 95’ on being selected to the FC Sports Hall of Fame. Jordan was Ferrum’s first NCAA National Championship Qualifier individually in 1993, and lead the program to its first team National Championship appearance in 1995.

I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again…skill and talent are only half your battle in the recruiting process if you’re a potential student-athlete in my program. Do you have positive body language? Will I have to worry about your grades? Those two things are just as important.

Man…some days are better than others, but it’s been a weird day for @ferrum_golf …nothing like a small hotel fire to end your day, we’re all okay and the hotel appears to be too.

Thank you to Olde Mill Golf Resort and their amazing staff for letting us come out and play yesterday. I say it a lot, but we are extremely blessed to have so many courses around Ferrum that allow us access to their clubs. Olde Mill is now 1 of 9 courses in our practice rotation.

Glad we could get Clayton on campus today, and good look next week at regionals, Coach!!

We’re glad that we can call The Water’s Edge Country Club one of our home courses. It’s got some of the most spectacular views of Smith Mountain Lake that Franklin County has to offer. It’s always a great way to end the week.

I would love to know what Austin Ekeler said to Brandon Staley to make him just forget he’s alive every time they are in the red zone…like dude had 20 TD’s last year and has touched the ball maybe 5 times inside the 20 in the first two games…and 5 might generous…killing me.
