So lovely meeting @taslimjaffer, the creator, writer, and editor extraordinaire of "BackWhereICameFrom", a beautiful collection of essays on culture, identity, and home. @bookhugpress. So honoured to have my story in the collection.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but if you feel excluded or bad about your writing career during the fall book season, when it seems as if everyone is posting party pics with famous authors at every festival, I feel you. It's hard on the confidence. It's hard for me too.

Some folks are wilding out about these Ta-Nehisi interviews — the Ezra one is very good and they arrive at a really compelling place, the Trevor one is quite revelatory about things Coates doesn’t get to talk about often, you should stop listening to the clips and just find them.

“I’m Lebanese here,” I said, pointing to my head. “And here,” pointing to my heart. Then I pointed to my lips, “But here, I’m not so Lebanese.” He laughed. “I can hear that.” Read about @OmarMouallem's trip to his family hometown in Lebanon: maisonneuve.org/article/2024/0…

@SimranRoohi I would have loved to be there. Also: everyone living on that street was invited and probably had the best time.

So sweet! One of my patients discovered #TheDoll at the library and shared, "Such a proud moment being at the library and telling [her son] that this is [Dr. Tran-Davies] creation!" Of course, she signed it out!

Gotta love books—how else can you feel like you are brothers with someone you have never met? Thank you, @elamin88, for writing this book, whose essayistic turns—through world history, the creation of the 401, and John Denver's Take Me Home, Country Roads—are lyrical and sublime.
