I’ve written to @Keir_Starmer to request he pays for the criminal damage the Just Stop Oil attacks on the Energy Security Department caused this morning As the political wing of Just Stop Oil, it is the Labour Party not the taxpayer that should be paying the bill

@LoreofRunning1 @JamesEPMoran @Alan_Couzens @UnoXteam @LeTour I just did the Door County Iron Triathlon in 5:56 on zero carbs. In fact zero calories. Runners and cyclists are always worried about their stomachs during these long events…because they eat carbs endlessly while doing it. Madness.

@LoreofRunning1 @campbelladam79 This is so interesting, i’m a new triathlete and came into the sport ideologically thinking LCHF but found the CHO to be a silver bullet. However on many occasions i have felt it is more mental than physical.

@campbelladam79 But where does all that carb ingested during exercise go? Because not all of it is oxidized. Yet the body has to maintain the blood glucose content at less than 5 grams (in the circulating blood volume of 5 L). If 130g is coming in every hour, it means 130g must be dealt with.

Overracing is often blamed for shortening several prominent ultrarunning careers from the mid to early 2010s - I wonder what role chronic under fuelling might have played? We celebrated running & racing on very little - I know cycling is a bit different, but these values are🤯

10-11g/kg CHO intake yesterday on the TT day +3g/kg breakfast this morning to prepare for today’s monster stage 17 @LeTour. Riders fuelled ~100-130g/h on the bike. Currently midway thru 4.5-5g/kg recovery 🍬 🥤 🍝 on the bus ⛽️ 🚀 #glycogen

@WritesBright Don’t forget the billions in bank, railway and energy company bailouts. These are part of the Tory playbook.

Oh I feel the Tories are straying into dangerous territory with the Labour Just Stop Oil repayment. People will soon be demanding that the Tories repay the British people for the billions wasted on crony COVID contracts. In fact…

@petecheslock What hyperbolic nonsense. We use it and it has helps our “small ops team” manage thousands of services around the globe to incredibly high uptimes.

Kubernetes has single handed set our industry back a decade. Companies are going to die because they spend more time “managing Kubernetes” than building a product.

@JohnIntraining @MartinSLewis This does eventually impact pubs as they will sell less beer. Turnover is magic. All businesses want turnover. If they drop thenprice of a ping back to £4.50 they might increase turnover by 50% which has a massive impact on profits. More so that the price increase.

@MartinSLewis There is an element of profiteering. If I increase a pint from £4.50 to £5.00 because of price increases and the cost price drops I am not going to reduce it because people have got used to paying

I'm no economist, but I struggle with the logic behind base rate rises currently. Inflation seems supply-side driven - but rate rises dampen demand. Then again the BoE is charged with bringing down inflation and this is it's only tool. So it has to do it. Co-ordinated effort with govt would help. Any economists out there, what's your view.

@JohnIntraining @MartinSLewis Supermarkets are hyper competitive and they set the base prices. Unless your pricing is inelastic it would need to come down or you’ll need to do buy one get one half price deals to clear stock. Ultimately competition will prevail.

@campbellclaret most of that Tory demise is down to Brexit failing to show upsides to date followed by the disastrous leadership of Truss & Johnson but Covid chaos & covid debts would have hurt any government and the electorate might factor that in at the next GE if Rishi continues to do well.

Getting the feeling that getting the Tories out of power will be a driving narrative of the next general election. Whatever it takes these people have got to go and go big … tactical voting has helped and can help again in a general election. Next stages now all about Labour 1/2
