@MichaelAArouet But aren’t the job cuts actually addressing the structural issues?

@bratricek Rád bych připomenul, že vývoj raket mají na svědomí z velké části právě ti Němci 😉 Btw Trump má taky německý původ.

@EBasilion We are neither completely in control nor completely out of control. We are somewhere in between. One of the trickiest things in life is to figure out where on this scale one is at the given moment.

We are not in control. And one day, you will die. If I were writing a self-help book, it would consist entirely of these two statements.

@potatoslav We (millennials) are carrying the world economy on our shoulders. We are the true Atlases of this time and era. Boomers are not even able to open a PDF and gen Z doesn’t even know how to write on a keyboard.

I have noticed I get minimal engagement for my Japan posts which is disappointing considering that most people who travel 1. Don’t even register the things I’m noticing 2. Even if they do, they don’t do public service by sharing it on X formerly known as Twitter.

Kamala will not go on Rogan because she has no fixed principles, no achievements as Vice President, and no apparent intellectual interests. So what would they talk about? Even filling up one hour would be tough.

@SimiBGood that’s what i don’t get?!! like i understand states discarding other state licenses when you change over bc you can only have one US license at a time but my US license belongs to the state of New Jersey why do you think you can take it? it doesn’t even work here!

@FischerKing64 That’s why humanities are called “liberal arts “. They are meant to be studied and pursued by free people (not people who would otherwise be wage slaves in our society or literally slaves in the ancient times).

Young people who really love literature or philosophy should nevertheless study engineering or math if they’ve got the aptitude. You can read the books on your own time - and internet communities will be more enlightening than the dead end types teaching this in university anyway. And with a viable degree you will never be broke.

Guys, I actually like the American system better and I think it’s more sustainable long term. I just dislike Americans ignoring the obvious fact that the reason this bloated european system has survived this long is exactly because it’s fine, people like it, and aren’t poor in any sense of the word.

Western Europeans have *democratically* settled on a high taxation, high public spending system. Unlike in the US, we have multiple political parties all with their own economic program to choose from. Do you really think someone who pays almost half of their income in taxes monthly is unaware or where it goes and doesn’t question it? Yet there is very little appetite for changing it. Maybe ask yourself why.
Overeducated Gibbon@MostlyMonkey

Great news, everybody: public spending is free.

@levelsio This actually applies to anything. If someone can’t give a simple answer but starts talking some gibberish, then they have no clue whatsoever. And the more BS buzzwords, the more apparent it is.

Just ask them: "So what did you build?" — "Well, we are working with key stakeholders in industries to create a framework for accelerating the ecosystem with regards to X and we'd love to have you participate" "What did you build?" — "Like I said, we are working..." GTFO!
Jandos Meirkhan@jandosio

@levelsio It resonates. I noticed that one can reveal a “builder” by asking “how” questions 3-4 levels deep into any part of the stack.
