@tauinos Thanks. Looks like *sometimes* the demo renders with black screen still; any interaction will make it work again. Is it that by any chance?

Check out the emscripten'ed web demo. Interact with it with the mouse. Or press space to animation rotation. behdad.org/hb-gpu-demo/
HarfBuzz—حرفباز@harfbuzz
hb-gpu is a new HarfBuzz library under development, that uses the Slug algorithm for encoding glyph shapes for rasterization on the GPU. We are looking for early testers and adopters, probably from the #gamedev community. Hit us with a comment: github.com/harfbuzz/harfb…

@tauinos Your browser probably doesn't support WebGL2 for some reason. Probably Firefox blacklisted your GPU/driver combo. What does webglreport.com/?v=2 think?
I added a descriptive error message to the demo. Thanks.

@tauinos Which version / OS? Works for us on Linux & Mac. Does reloading help?

@kyomu_utsuro @LowRogue @LidiaVtuber i can’t get over the titles and thumbnails; i get that they’re a part & parcel with yt, but still find the title of anything to serve the important role of priming audience expectations. i also think they invariably end up bleeding into the content regardless (headline chasing)

To follow up on your question yesterday, Pippa, someone in the comments (@LowRogue) mentioned @LidiaVtuber and after viewing a few recent segments I think she's pretty good. It seems that you already follow her. Here are some observations:
1. She uses direct quotes with little to no editorializing. I checked out her coverage of the recent Advancedgg/Revsaysdesu drama as a stress test and she merely showed quotes and tweets and gave 0 opinion, which is pretty fair.
2. She has breadth of coverage (many segments per video and not one topic per video), which makes her content naturally lean towards "news" and not drama. For example, positive/neutral things happening in the vtuber world like event announcements and concerts are also covered. Not focusing just on the controversial stuff is honestly pretty helpful if you are interested in a good variety of recent event updates.
3. She gives a brief overview for any entity mentioned for the first time in any video, even for things like "Hololive". This may seem redundant to people like you and me but I do think it's a healthy kind of OCD to cover all bases because it's keeping the viewers of various backgrounds in mind. This doesn't have much to do with contents but more of a hint to professionalism.
She may be less "colorful" than others in this field but you strike me as someone who only needs factual info anyway and doesn't "need to be told how to think" like the average dramatuber viewer. I think Lidia is a good fit.
