Tomorrow is in my back yard and I’m struggling to see a scenario where it’s worth chasing. The main trough is displaced too far west leading to deep layer shear being post-frontal. Stubborn cold air to the north and poor WF orientation making the TP target less optimal.

@taylorwrightwx @ConvChronicles The FV3 core, on which the RRFS is based, can't simulate thunderstorms at high resolution. The storms are too pulse-like and produce too much rain. I've heard that NSSL has traced this problem to the pressure solver (simulated reflectivity and UH depend on all other model fields)

PSA: For the love of god, please stop using the RRFS to forecast, y’all!

Im so close to crashing out because of it. I stay off here so much but my fuse seeing all of these posts, while people actively complain about chaser convergence acting like posting every target or setup ever on social media doesn’t actively influence others to go out makes me want to put my head through a wall.

If you ever wanna know what wxtwitter is, it’s 50% posting every cam run or skew t saying “omg” or “problematic” with absolutely 0 context and 50% everyone posting about every target ever and complaining about chaser convergence and absolutely 0% in between.

@oklahomachaser Nah I ended up in the Newton, KS area super late, got really close to a funnel/likely tor out of dumb luck, then proceeded to get stuck behind a conga of chasers with no data for the rest of the day and drove home at dark lol

@taylorwrightwx Yeah no fucking shit. You stick to that middle storm too? I saw like 7 tornadoes that day and don't want to claim any of them
