@steveowen91 @MikeKellyNHL I mean there is value to seeing who actually makes up those man games lost, no? Otherwise Conor Timmons and Kulich with his health issues count the same as missing mcdonagh or Hedman for the same amount of time. Not to mention tampa I would suspect is just off that top 5

@MikeKellyNHL I know what you wrote. You want to isolate the defenseman and make that the basis for Cooper winning the award. I want to look at everything, including the fact that Tampa was supposed to be a top team in the league. Cooper is not more deserving than Ruff or Muse.

Tampa Bay lost more man games to injury on defence than any team in the league.

They allowed the fewest high-danger chances of any team and have the 5th best record in the league. He’d get my vote.

Since I'm seeing a lot of these, in addition to people suggesting a vote for Cooper would be a lifetime achievement vote... Consider the Lightning's 104pts through 80 games, with several key players missing a lot of games, a direct result of Cooper's coaching. Their discipline to the brand has given them a consistency most wouldn't acheive under the same circumstances.

Jonas Johansson is likely going to Colorado, according to @KevinWeekes.
I can say without hesitation that the Avs are getting the worst goalie I've seen during my 19 seasons covering the Sabres.
He doesn't stop pucks in practice or games.

If by chance a team wants to acquire Hutton or Johansson as insurance at the trade deadline, the Sabres would have HAD to call up Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen to the roster or taxi squad because no other Amerks had NHL contracts. Now, they'll have the option to put Houser on taxi squad

Jonas Johansson is maybe the worst goalie I’ve ever watched play in an NHL game. Probably *the* player in the league whose continued opportunities (now a fourth NHL club) confounds me the most. Honest question for people who know goalies better than me: Am I missing something?

GM Bill Armstrong told me today that the plan is to get newly claimed goalie Jonas Johansson a good look in the team's final 3 preseason games. Johansson should be at the Ice Den Scottsdale on Sunday. Armstrong added that the Coyotes will keep watching the goalie market/waivers.

@ReviewLightning They couldn’t have fit Stamkos OR Bjorkstrand in at the start of the previous season so I don’t understand your argument. Look at the opening night roster and cap hit! Bjorkstrand wasn’t on it and they were close to capped out.

@TBLightening In a ridiculously hypothetical situation, would you not rather have Stammer & Guentzel than Bjorkstrand & Guentzel? I stand by Stammer out/Guentzel in. But Bjork is not nearly giving value on his deal.
