They never do. I've said for years that almost nobody in Nigeria has experienced actual love before, whether male or female. Not from their romantic partners, not from their family, not even from their parents. It's all an unhealthy soup of unprocessed emotions, theatre performance and the worst kind of unbridled capitalism. Nigerian relationships are characterised by a lot of things. Things like Desire. Lust. Dependency. Codependency. Convenience. Need. Force. Love is unfortunately not one of them.

Living a slow life has calmed my nervous system. I don’t panic over every little thing anymore. I don’t feel guilty for resting. I don’t treat every moment like it needs to be productive. Some mornings I just make coffee and sit in silence. Looking at the sky. The birds. Breathing in the morning calm. Some evenings I stare out the window and watch the sky turn orange. Sometimes I read 20 pages. Sometimes I read none. I don’t feel the need to optimize every second of my existence anymore. That constant pressure to “do more,” “be more,” has disappeared. And in its place came what I actually needed: calm. I’ve realized life becomes meaningful the moment you stop rushing through it. Meaning was never hidden. It's was always there in the little things that made you feel peaceful and fully alive.

What is one skill you think every young person should learn before the age of 30??

A bit uncomfortable with this lazy tripe you people keep parroting since yesterday about Northerners being dull cos some of the sharpest Nigerians I’ve ever met are from the North. The issue has never been about intelligence but bad leadership, broken systems and decades of educational neglect. Blame the people who failed those kids and stop calling underprivileged kids dumb under the guise of objectivity.

My mom got my dad out of debt, he taught her how to invest. They both pursued entrepreneurship together and own 12 properties together now and retired my mom. My dad only works bc he wants to. Lmfaoo that’s the example I had growing up

Freedom is expensive.

If you’re ambitious I’d highly recommend working in an organization or a team where people have your similar sense of urgency or you will slowly go insane
