I spoke to 4 single mothers living in homeless accommodation today. All on camera.
One was assaulted. Another couldn't go to the hospital with a broken arm for two days because the "service" providers said her mother can't babysit, and that only a social worker could..
@FlamelilyJoy Jeepers, Joy, you are amazing in the being and in the doing, also looking spectacular - acing it on all fronts! Delighted to see you, hear about your work, read your work, hear about you... keep it all up. You are an inspiration and a Joy in name and in nature
Shona proverb: “Sango rinopa waneta”(The forest provides food to those who persevere)
I’ve found support in places I least expected, & in distant countries
I’ve also got silence from where I expected support
Experiences and lessons I’ll carry with me on this journey of dreams
Twenty years ago Racism and Social Change in the Republic of Ireland was published by @ManchesterUP It had previously been turned down by an Irish academic publisher because the peer reviewer felt that chapters on Travellers had no place in a book about racism. 2nd edition 2012.
@BryanFanning@ManchesterUP And that racism continues and we continue to call it by so many other names, you were right then, Bryan. Then and still now - what so many member of the Traveller community experience is clearly racism.
Thank you to the person who is followed and follows many mutuals here who reminded me that I have no place to be commenting or writing anything about Ireland because I have no connections to country, after 20yrs😞 Go raibh maith agat
Wishing you all a wonderful Wednesday 🌻
The Conservative's Nationality and Borders Bill would allow the government to remove British citizenship without notice or right to appeal.
