Truly incredible stuff here. This is such an egregious error for the A section of the NYT (not a typo, genuinely not knowing what NATO stands for) that it should lead every piece on the decline in journalism

Does the @nytimes know what NATO stands for?

@Patiricye @_hudsonc Forgive me if this double posts. LinkedIn is acting strangely. But in June we were all working together. This original post was about the Washington Accords six months later.
English

@tdf_dc @_hudsonc The peace agreement was signed on June 27th, before your retirement. This was you 👇🏾 at a Department of State briefing about a month earlier, talking about wanting to move things quickly. I guess the buck stops with those actually in conflict, but you guys aren’t blameless either

English

"Boulos pushed to sign the Washington Accords in December instead of waiting for signs of progress between Rwanda and Congo on the ground because he wanted the win," according to a US official. The failure of the Rwanda-DRC deal hangs on Boulos it seems. washingtonpost.com/politics/2026/…
English

@Patiricye @_hudsonc Well sure, but all sides were working together at that point. You were pointing at an event in December, by which time I was long gone.
English

@Patiricye @_hudsonc Whoa, hang on pal. I retired in July. Don’t try to blame this on me.
English

@_hudsonc Massad Boulos it is lol Blame the new guy, I guess, even though State Department veterans like Troy Fitrell, who knew (or should have known) better, were jamming it through too lol

@Dachronica Trump obviously wouldn’t mind being able to take credit. I doubt he even knows how complicated it is. But the worst part, I think, is this guy who probably knows better, yet he’s pushing it through while heading for the exit. He’ll be on the beach when it blows up on everyone lol

I’m incredibly proud and honored to announce that I’ve joined the Inaugural Industry Advisory Board of the @payneinstitute at @coschoolofmines.
I look forward to working closely with Program Director @MBazilian and the incredible network of business leaders on the advisory board.
This is especially meaningful to me as an alum — I studied Geology & Geological Engineering at Mines, where I developed a deep appreciation for mineral exploration & development, mineral economics, problem-solving at the intersection of geology, technology, society and public policy.
Being able to now support the Institute’s mission to inform evidence-based public policy on energy, natural resources, and the environment feels like a full-circle moment.
The Payne Institute uniquely brings together technical expertise and real-world impact, driving data-driven insights that help shape and scale resilient solutions to some of our most pressing challenges.
I’m energized to work with an extraordinary group of industry leaders, faculty, and scientists to help guide the Institute’s vision and amplify its influence across sectors — focusing on energy and critical minerals essential for reshoring and supply chain resiliancy.
To my fellow alumni and colleagues — grateful for the education and foundation that Mines gave me, and excited for what’s ahead! 💛⚒️

Well-written story. I would simply suggest that I am helping Africa CDC *thrive* rather than survive. We are in lockstep with the administration's new global health strategy. (and, yes, I am still in the business world too.)
