@teacher_please No. And you are remiss for not having Roy Hargrove on your list. The fact is this is Twitter and because of limited space people cannot do comprehensive lists, so they might limit them to, say, people who are contemporaneous and in the same genre as the subject.

@teacher_please To underrate is to underestimate the extent, value, or importance of someone or something. Jazz (and virtually every traditional music) are very clearly underrated in a general social sense, and especially when compared with popular / commercial music. Our values are off.

Jazz is the most underrated, overlooked form of intellectual and artistic expression. There is less than 100 years between Charlie Parker and Cardi B. Something is deeply wrong, but at least #jazzmusic is trending on twitter in July 2022.
