@xAimieCrewex @mtptproject With my first - 1.5hrs sleep total for me regularly and I just rode it out. You do get uses to it somehow. I also told people around me to not expect much from me and they were kind, and accommodating, and that helped! With my second, shifts and cosleeping as others have said.

I feel I would be a much more effective caregiver during the day if my children would simply let me sleep during the night

@missdcox I tend to blend in that situation. Most lessons have natural stopping points built in throughout. Alternatively in an emergency I skip the tasks that seem less relevant!

People that plan/follow schemes written by lesson, do you always cover what you’ve planned for that lesson? Then what do you do? Do you just carry on to the next lesson to follow the scheme? Or do the lessons start to blend?

@TabitaSurge I was at an all-girls school paired with an all-boys school in the 00s. It wasn't this school but I can confirm that they absolutely did pay the boys if they beat the girls and no, we didn't get paid if we did better.

@AMccormick961 @MrTs_NQTs Resistance work? E.g. carrying heavy things, pressing against the wall, press ups, using a resistance band?

Any advice on sensory input for children with ADHD? Soft play/ light room/ sensory gym seem to be having negative impact. Child is becoming overstimulated with these inputs and hitting / spitting etc as a result. Thanks @MrTs_NQTs

@hannahmary8890 Bereft is normal but you might find you adapt quicker than you think. Plus picking them up from nursery is so exciting!

@hannahmary8890 I don't know you but wanted to jump in and say this will be fine! The thought is so much worse than when it actually happens. I felt the same, but love seeing my daughter relish her nursery experience and have things that I can't give her at home. Good luck!

My year 4s are going to read picture books with the EYFS children on Thursday as part of World Book Day.I’d love it if they could also share something they have either written or made or produced themselves.Has anyone done something like this and shared with the younger children?

@scottreecemusic I always wonder why we feel so strongly that it's part of our remit to do something for mothers/fathers day. What would happen if we just....didn't.....? There are always children who will have tricky circumstances.

As someone who lost both parents young, I appreciate companies emailing to check if it’s ok to send marketing messages about Mother’s and Father’s Day. Our amazing schools handle this sensitively, but class activities require such sensitivity next wk- how do you manage it?🙏

@teachermumdone @JoaquinaSp14769 @Mumsyme E.g. if reading diaries signed then they can do non uniform once a term, or a house point for completing homework, that kind of thing. Not perfect. If it was up to me I think I'd remove all rewards for completing it because I just don't think it's their fault if they can't do it!

@teachermumdone @JoaquinaSp14769 @Mumsyme For KS2 it's a piece of maths and SPAG related to that week's learning, plus reading. For KS1 there is reading and also we send home phonics games, and provide a 'menu' of curriculum based activities to choose from each half term. As I said, incentivised but not punished!

Parents of Y1s- is this a normal amount of homework? My daughter isn't even 6 yet. We have maths, grammar, Ed shed spellings (3 attempts required across 3 levels of diff), reading book and now this... I don't get home until 5. My daughter is in bed at 7. Is this normal now?

@teachermumdone @Mumsyme Exactly. And what if you go away one weekend, and what if you work and don't get home until 6?

@tealady_p @Mumsyme To be fair she hasn't had to go because I absolutely make sure we get it done so she doesn't lose her Friday lunch playtime- so I guess from that perspective it works in making sure I make sure it is done. But for some kids their parents won't/can't regularly keep on top of hwk

@teachermumdone @Mumsyme Yep, again at my school we offer it for children who want to come but I can't imagine making it compulsory! Definitely punitive - how could it not be?

@teachermumdone @Mumsyme I'd love to know how on earth a ks1 child is responsible for whether or not they can complete homework at home

@tealady_p @Mumsyme Hmm not sure re legality. Hadn't thought about that. I think they have a lunch hour, so if the hwk club is 20 mins then they still have 40 mins to eat- wouldn't leave much time to play though.

@teachermumdone @Mumsyme This bothers me- I'm not sure this is legal? I would be raising it in your position. Our school offers homework throughout because some parents really want it - similar to what you're getting - and it's incentivised but not at all compulsory and certainly not punished like this!

@Mumsyme I worry about this too- it switching her off of learning. I find it really over the top and intense. Especially when other countries don't start formal learning until 6 or 7. If maths and grammar isn't completed they lose their lunchtimes on Friday for compulsory h/wk club...

So, as someone who dated: Often when young men say they want children they mean they want to do the fun uncle thing they do at family parties now and again. They have no concept of what being a parent actually is between short bursts of playing with their kids. This may be what
