1963. Jacqueline Pearce & a group of students at RADA (Royal Academy of Dramatic Art) read Restless Heart, the Jean Anouilh play. (Classmates Ian McShane & John Hurt also pictured). JP later moved to LA, working for Sammy Davis Jr. and training at Lee Strasberg's Actors Studio.

I've pieced together this incredibly rare & precious Edwardian colour movie, filmed 118 years ago at Upton Manor Farm in Southwick, England. This is the Autumn Harvest of 1908, showing rural life in the UK just 7 years after the end of the Victoria Era, when our life and work was considerably less mechanised. This is amongst the earliest British colour films, which was made via Kinemacolour, developed by George Albert Smith in 1906. It employed a spinning 2-colour filter system of red and green filters to replicate "full colour". The separate colour frames line up pretty well, except fo shots of lateral movement, such as the horse's legs where the individual coloured filters become much more apparent. The music I've used is the Largo movement from Dvořák's Symphony No. 9, "From the New World", which is rather ironic considering the film shows us scenes of the Old World long gone. Watch until the end, which leaves us a charming little love story. Though perhaps she waved her fellow off to War on the Western Front 6 years later... (One of my hobbies is to collect old colour film footage, and if you enjoy this example I might share a few extra videos on my account)

A rare exception. As a homicide detective, you cannot expect Lieutenant Columbo to save lives. However, his quick thinking did heroically save Will Geer's Dr Edmund Heideman in A Stitch in Crime. (Spock trying to kill off Grandpa Walton in my alternative universe TV brain.)

@RodneyMarshall1 another amazing performance. sam is terrifying in his rage and yet, somehow makes this repressed man recognizable. i can still hear my entire theater gasp audibly at that pivotal moment with holly. such a wonderful film. perfect casting all the way round.

Born in N. Ireland to English & New Zealand parents, Sam Neill was a man of the world & his film career reflects that. I will fondly remember him for The Piano, an Australian-French co-production but filmed in his beloved New Zealand. One of his most challenging, darker roles. 🙏

Hello again. We’re currently in Clemson, South Carolina. I’ve decided to come back here to document the final part of our road trip. The main reason I deactivated my account two weeks ago was that things became increasingly toxic. For some people, it’s unfortunately unfathomable that a good story can exist without some kind of hidden agenda behind it. There was even a Reddit group going through my entire account trying to find anything they could use to reveal my identity. I know this was only a small percentage of people, but after a while it became exhausting. During the last two weeks, I received so many kind messages on Instagram, and they really made me realize how many people genuinely enjoyed following the trip. Some people even told me that their grandparents regularly ask them, “What are the Germans up to today?” I think that’s really cool. I decided to continue because I realized that the overwhelming majority of people loved following along. A small group of very loud people shouldn’t be able to ruin something that brought so many others joy. I also want to clear something up, as people who follow me on Instagram already know. I’ve been to the United States before. This is not my first visit, and I’ve never claimed that it was. The last time I was here was in January 2022, when I visited New York and Philadelphia. A lot of people shared my Raising Cane’s post from November 2025 to make it look like I was secretly American. That post wasn’t from the United States, it was from my trip to Saudi Arabia. This is my first time back in the U.S. in more than four years, and apart from Boston, I’d never visited any of the places we’ve been to on this trip before. That’s probably why many people assumed it was our first time in America, because for all of these places, it actually was. 22 years ago today we took the plunge & moved from the UK to rural France. It took time to acclimatise to the language & culture, tackle employment red tape...nor did it last forever, but our neighbours embraced us as friends & I would wholeheartedly recommend the adventure...

It's so much worse. I think they've completely lost what it means to play games on PlayStation. PlayStation updated its Terms of Service in April 2026, and Section 21 outlines how inactive PSN accounts may be closed. > If a PSN account remains inactive for 36 months, Sony may begin the account closure process. The account holder will receive an email notification and has 6 months to sign in or request that the account remain active. > If no action is taken and the account is closed, access to PlayStation Network services will end. >Any digital purchases tied to that account, including games, DLC, and other digital content, will no longer be accessible. According to the Terms of Service, this process is irreversible.
