After nearly 13 years this is my last post here. Sick of the ads and constant nagging to go Premium. Now I'm getting notifications from X that's just posts the boss is making. Harvest will continue with the same handle at Bluesky if you are interested. 👋

Soft launch at harvest tonight on Barley. Just enough for a sample to figure out what we have. 🤞

A mix of vixen seeded this year with a shit germination and caliber that fell over in a big blow before harvest last year, not a bad result but very hard to replicate

I'm not one for "Bumper Stickers" usually, but I'm all in on this fight.

@teasy64 @chriswalsh008 @brendanw59 What grain is there will be needed. Hay is very expensive to make and in these situations could become oversupplied and sit for a while. A very large nutrient removal sold at a low value. High product removal, faster acidification. Making Hay is a very hard decision in opinion.

Frost impact difficult to comprehend. High biomass areas worst hit but they were not stressed the stressed area around trees no frost impact. I guess just a growth stage thing. Total wipeout in blue areas.

@chriswalsh008 @brendanw59 I assume most agros would be well qualified for that. When stuff happens (frost) we all feel like we need to try and "manage" the situation, but I think sometimes it's probably better to do nothing. There might be more there than you think.

@teasy64 @brendanw59 Sadly, the only practical learning is being able to quantify the damage and make a quick decision on future. Do you feel this info is widely available Teasy?

@teasy64 @ryan_milgate I’ve never seen anything like it before. Hail continuously for around 30 minutes varying in size of stubby lids to big marbles. Lentils hit, laser light in shed shredded damage to ute and car. Not ideal

@FinniganScott @ryan_milgate Shit! I didn't realise it was that bad. It looks like it went through between our block at Burrum and our block at Coromby. Been lucky......... So far! 😬
