@LowBoomLowDrift Back in the 90’s we used to use a Cleanacres Airtech sprayer - regularly we would spray 20 L/Ha and get excellent coverage and results. We were also able to cut back on chemical rates. The system fell out of favour as the chemical companies wouldn’t approve the system for use.

What is the lowest water volume you have applied out of your sprayer ? What chem ? What adjuvant? Did it work ? What about the airplane? Same results or different ?

@AutoInfatuation Sadly a lot of that going on. Trouble is people buy these luxury cars and think they can maintain and run them on ford Ka budgets….

I had a very stressful day ‘picking up’ the X5 on Saturday, ended up doing a 10hr round trip on many trains and on top of that the car is only (hopefully) arriving at my house on the back of a trailer this afternoon 🥲 Car was great for the check over, test drive and about 35 minutes after that, then it broke down on me, felt like some kind of injector or fuel injection issue, battery then completely died. Seller blocked my number as soon as I drove off it seems too 😆🤷‍♂️ Lucky it was fairly cheap so worst case should get most of my money back if I don’t keep it. Positive updates to hopefully follow this week if I have time🤞
Sam Hosier@AutoInfatuation

There is a slight risk with this car as I’ve bought it off of some fairly rubbish photos but the chap selling seems spot on. It passed my comprehensive trade checks though and MOT history is very good with Full Service History etc. When I VIN checked it via Bimmer.Work it gives you renders of its build spec which is pretty cool. Looks pretty much original spec in the photos I’ve seen so fingers crossed 🤞 Ex Demo E70 BMW X5 3.0d SE by the way 😆 Space Grey Metallic with Beige Nappa Leather interior 💺

@AutoInfatuation I’d have the XC90 - I’ve had two and they have been very uneventful for the mileage I did on them. Out of choice I’d have the Discovery and I’d put a TDV8 in it to get rid of of the engine issues. Here’s the latest one I did over Christmas

You can only have one of the following SUV’s/4x4’s for Family stuff and general day to day duties. What are you having? 2007-2011 BMW X5 E70 30/35d (Ideally SE spec as pictured for me, Pan Roof, Comfort seats & HUD would be great) 2007-2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland 3.0 CRD (Bi-Xenon’s & Sunroof are a must for me) 2005-2011 Mercedes-Benz ML W164 3.0/4.0 CDI or 5.0 V8 if you’re lucky. (Had two of these and really liked them, most are low-ish spec, high spec ones are harder to come by but worth it) 2009-2014 Volvo XC90 2.4 D5 5-Pot Auto. (SE Lux trim with the Dynaudio, Sunroof, Light Leather & Bi-Xenon’s for me spec wise)

@AutoInfatuation Yeah, I’m lucky. I have to drive to get to my job an then can do the job after that. This time of year is awful as I don’t have enough daylight really. I find it crazy that I can drive and work the hours that I do but my mate has to have a tacho card that limits him.

Totally random one but this will be genuinely helpful to me: What would you say is the ’average’ full time working week is in the UK 🇬🇧 currently? The last time I was on PAYE, well over 10 years ago it was about 37.5hrs I think 🤔 Looks as if it’s more like 40hrs per week now but I’ve been self employed for along time and am completely out of touch with it all 😬

Estate/Kombi/Wagon under £2,000 baring in mind I have trade access too. 2006> Petrol, ideally Automatic and high spec, leather seats, sunroof, Xenon’s etc. Bit of a laugh with decent power. Runaround/Spare car, thinking these are some options: - B8 Audi A4 Avant 1.8/2.0 TFSI - E91 BMW 320/325i Touring (Hard to find in higher specs) - MK3 Ford Mondeo Titanium X Sport 2.0 EcoBoost Powershift (Had 2 MK3’s, 2.0 TDCI & 2.5T. Both EcoBoost engine and Powershift gearbox are quite blowy-uppy but good when they work correctly 😬) - Jaguar X-Type 3.0 V6 Sovereign Estate - W211 Mercedes-Benz E200/280 Estate (Petrols are rarer) - Renault Laguna 2.0T GT/Initiate Estate (Petrols in these spec are very hard to come by) - Saab 9-3 Aero Estate 2.0/2.8T - Skoda Octavia VRS 2.0 TFSI Estate - Subaru Legacy 2.5/3.0i (Ideally Spec B either as a normal Estate or Outback) - Vauxhall Vectra Elite Estate 2.8T (Found a mental spec one in the trade 🤷‍♂️) - VW Passat 2.0 TSI or 3.2 V6 Estate DSG (Again, rare but findable) - Volvo V70/XC70 2.5T (Unlikely to find a decent one but mega cars!) Am I missing any you can think of?

@AutoInfatuation Ouch. No longer a cheap meal. I grew up near a fishing town so had the pleasure of the fish coming in on the boat, crossing the road and straight into the fryer. Something special when they are that fresh.

@tec_limited £40.50 in total, I had Cod & Chips. My wife had 8 cod bites and chips and we shared them with the kids as they were decent portions. Also had an unlimited refill drink so fairly expensive I’d say but it was fresh and pretty nice.

Not so Sunny, Hunstanton with the kids today (Last day of half term & Halloween not great timing admittedly 😬) ☁️🎃 Sea Life Centre that is extortionately expensive for what takes an hour at best (we won family tickets though through Sky so…..😎🤷‍♂️) Biggest Turtle 🐢 I’ve ever seen in my life, some weird and wonderful creatures and then Fish & Chips naturally 🍟🐟

Does anyone on here have genuine knowledge of car key recoding? I only got one keyless entry key with my Audi and want a 2nd, ideally a newer, sleeker looking one if possible. My diagnostic machine will code keys to any car but what I do not understand is whether you can just buy an old used smart key and recode it? I understand I’d have to have the key blade changed and recut to match my OEM key. Just don’t want to waste money buying pointless used keys that won’t work 🤷‍♂️

After 10 hours out today to collect my new to me high mileage daily driver, I’m finally home 😅 2009 Audi A8L SE 4.2 TDI Quattro Oyster Grey Metallic Light Grey Valcona leather comfort Seats with Walnut Brown wood inlays 326bhp & 479ft/lbs Torque Sunroof, Heated front & rear seats, Ice cold A/C, Bi-xenon headlights, Bose sound system, rear blinds, keyless entry & start etc so a nice spec. Drove absolutely spot on all the way back from deepest darkest Kent which overall was 165 mile trip. Avg’d just under 36mpg including a very busy Dartford Crossing. Filled it up at BP with 126 miles to go and it’s still saying I have 600+ miles of range 👀 Downsides are mainly cosmetic, whole car needs a really good polish, especially the lights. Interior needs a good valet & some switches are looking a bit worn out. Only one key so need to get a 2nd really, service history is really good up until 2021 & then a bit sparse since so ideally I’ll get it serviced ASAP. It does seem to think the bonnet is open which just brings up an error message, it’s definitely not but I’ll look into that tomorrow. Also has the 19” BBS Split Rims which are OEM from factory, I’ve had these on both my previous Audis and they aren’t the best. Also could have better tyres so I need to decide what I’m doing about the alloys. Oh and if you haven’t seen in the photo already, it’s done 236,000 miles!!! You genuinely wouldn’t know it to drive though, Air Suspension is all lovely and it’s very fast for a Diesel, this is my 3rd 4.2 TDI and I’d forgotten just how good they are 🥰 I paid £2,200 all in which I think is a bargain on the face of things 🤷‍♂️

That’s a LACOs LC1 fitted to a @HARDIEVRARD Alpha sprayer. PWM install, RTK through ntrip. If you’ve not seen the LACOs screen well worth a look, the user interface, display quality and speed are all excellent.

@cattlefinishers You calibrate as you seed - no bucket tests needed. You mitigate any mistakes made by the seed company or any batch changes with the tgw. It all ends up being more accurate and having the right amount of seeds/m2 in the soil instead of what an equation drives to.

Before having a stubble rake I was sceptical about them having any useful effect. However now in the second year evening out of the straw, mixing a little tilth with the straw and the effect on slug numbers whether through direct action or the creation of fine tilth all seem good
