@techchartmark @larpar Hi Mark, yes all of these have been successful in the ORESS 1 auction, but they are all delayed, or worse, the Galway project that is no longer going ahead. The strike price was ambitious, to say the least, and the market has gotten further away from it being realistic.

From an electricity supply perspective, what we need to understand in Ireland is that we'd be in deep deep sh*t if it were not for the UK's north sea natural gas supply to tap into right now. 50% of our electricity comes from natural gas, and of that 50% - 15% from the North Sea gas fields, 17% from Norway, 8% LNG from the US (and Qatar...), and 10% is indigenous (Corrib gas fields, which is now in a steady decline from peak production in 2018). There are no credible long term alternatives being pursued or implemented by our government to take us away from this natural gas dependence. Those gas supplies are going to keep our grid system functioning for only so long as the UK has also gone down the braindead road of Net Zero and like ourselves as of 2025 have no plans to explore or drill for any new supplies. They'll feel the effects of that decision soon enough, with it cascading onto us too. We have zero plans in place for any of this, and very few (imo) people in positions of power fully understand the slow death our grid is undergoing. I'm not even sure how we reverse this, but I do know we need to act soon.

@nialljburke @larpar The point is there are plans. There are plans to have 80% renewables by 2034, I doubt that will be achieved, but there are plans.

@techchartmark Hmmm maybe, in my spreadsheet linked above I have @Tether holding plotted at $122B. They holds specifically Treasury Bills, which differ from Treasure Bonds in terms of maturity being very short term. * Would be interesting if that's the explanation 🤔 tether.to/en/transparenc…

In my annual update on US Bonds held by Foreign Nations there is a huge anomaly for El Salvador that I'm hoping someone can explain🤔 * How does a country that has never held US Debt & in need of $1.4 Billion IMF loan purchase $85 Billion in US Bonds that same month. - Sources- Treasury - home.treasury.gov/data/treasury-… End of Bond Breakdown - ticdata.treasury.gov/resource-cente… Monthly Bond Updates - ticdata.treasury.gov/resource-cente… Tone's Spreadsheet (Tab 2) - docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d… IMF Loan - imf.org/en/news/articl…

@ToneVays Instead of the table named “major foreign holders of treasury securities”, it should be “Major Foreign Custodial Jurisdictions”

Because these bonds are not just held by the country. These bonds are held by entities including investment funds, pension funds, insurance companies, and corporations. In Ireland most of these bonds are held by US corporations domiciled in Ireland. For El Salvador these bonds are likely held by tether they formally moved operations there in January 2025

Bitcoin continues to respect the October 2023 trendline, with no weekly close below it so far. Price is holding within the cyclical Fibonacci pullback zone, which keeps the broader structure intact. A break and hold above $93.2k opens the door to $98.3k, followed by $106k. Weekly RSI still needs a close back above the 50 line to fully confirm a renewed bullish trend. Daily RSI has already flipped bullish, holding above 50 for the first time since October, a positive early signal. Support range $84k/$80k.
